Spacious and practically laid out home for a family of four including 2 young children. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and there was was plenty of storage in bathrooms and bedrooms for us to fully unpack for our stay. We very much appreciated the air conditioning and the swimming pool to escape the warm temperatures. The spa was not heating on the first day but the hosts were quick to respond with an offer to rectify which was great. Holloways Beach was the perfect base between Cairns and other attractions such as Hartleys and Skyrail (Kuranda). The house is conveniently located across the road from the playground, netted swim area and a very good cafe. The only catch was that our sleep was disturbed on a number of nights from rowdy people visiting the area in the early hours.

House was unique and quirky with beautiful wooden floors and a nice, airy feel. Very capacious and lots of space to move around. Direct beach access and a minute's stroll to the local bar / cafe (only open in the evenings a few nights a week, but lovely for coffee in the daytime with ocean views). Pool was a good size and the spa was good for my 6yo, who can't swim (main pool doesn't have a shallow end so bring floaties if you have kids who can't swim). Holloways is a secluded village (bigger than it seems) with nice beach walks and a stinger net if you want to swim in the sea during stinger season. It gets surprisingly busy in the day, though - the upstairs balcony is perfect for people watching with a cup of coffee or glass of wine! We'd definitely recommend both the location (for a quiet, relaxing holiday) and the accommodation, and would love to stay there again if the opportunity arose.

Overall the house and the location was great. The main downside was the noise during the evenings and nights that came from the public areas at the beach.
