John was a great host! The property was Deep in the Woods, but it only took us 8-10 mins to drive to our jobsite at University of Oregon each day. Perfect location if you want to feel like you are staying out in the woods, but just minutes from Safeway and the college.

We had a lovely time at John’s fabulous A Frame. Quiet with gorgeous views. Close to great hiking. John was an excellent host. We would absolutely come back.

As amazing as John's place is, the man himself takes the top spot for what we enjoyed the most. John is warm and welcoming. The areas are a clear reflection of his artistry and passion for creating serene and enjoyable spaces. Our family had busy schedules for most of our trip, and we left wishing we would have just enjoyed John's home more. It's definitely a space you can just sit back, and watch the sun traverse the sky. The beds were the most comfy beds we've slept on! The communal spaces were great. We loved stargazing from many of the outdoor decks. The location couldn't be more peaceful at the heart of the Butte. John , Star and Iko were so welcoming and friendly. The space was beautiful , surrounded by gorgeous trees and forest. Comortable, scenic lookouts. This is a beautiful and cozy peaceful getaway but still close to town and the University. Wish we had known about this place sooner!

The home is in an amazing location. The sunrise was surreal and the place was in a super peaceful and beautiful area. It rained most of the days while we were there, so we weren't able to use the deck & outdoors. But the sunroom made up for it. The mud room was convenient to keep our dogs paws clean, especially in the constant rain. The backyard is fully fenced, so we could send our dogs to do their business without worrying. The frontyard space is huge with many on-property walking trails. Delivery folks (doordash) sometimes had trouble finding the right turn from the main road, but they eventually managed. John and his wife were great hosts. They gave us extra supplies and were always quick to respond. Their dog Iko is very friendly, even to our dogs. It was fun playing with him too. Just a note that one bedroom & bathroom are located in a detached unit downstairs (i.e. there's no indoor staircase to it).
