We really like the house. It’s clean and roomy. The house has very view of the lake with large windows from the dinning room and living room. The dock is really nice as well, which is a nice place to catch a sunrise early in the morning. Our kids really enjoyed kayaks, and paddleboards on the lake.

Wow! The lakefront Chateau at Ferncliff is absolutely wonderful! We are privileged to have been the first guests. Everything is new and clean and the view is outstanding! The master suite is on its own upper level with a lovely sitting room and great views. You literally wake up in the morning and look out to a lake view from your bed! For such a large room it felt cozy and warm and very much like a retreat with the charming shutters and wainscoting ceiling. Your luggage can be stored in the walk in closet, keeping the room clear. The oversized bathroom was a treat as well (soaps, shampoo, and towels are provided). All the sheets and towels were sanitized and sealed in bags which was reassuring (you will have to make up your bed). The main level is spacious and beautifully decorated. We appreciate all the little well thought details (like live plants, books, and placemats). The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware and has both a Keurig and a traditional drip coffee maker. A huge bonus was the built-in cabinet sized ice maker. This main level has an amazing outdoor deck that wraps around the house. We did use the gas barbecue grill (which is great to have). There is seating for about 20 people on this amazing deck, and oh those views! We did use the deep seating area (which you will need to remove the covers to use). The deck has stairs that lead to the lower patio and yard. The yard slopes down to the water, so we found it best to walk across the lower patio first (which has more seating and a hammock) and then straight down to the dock. It is worth mentioning that the many trees drop "gumballs" which are round and prickly and one elderly family member had difficulty walking to the dock but, with a little help, she was able to enjoy the dock with us. The dock has an amazing double seating area for about 14 people. The umbrellas have solar lights so we were able to enjoy the sunset with drinks and games at the dock. We rented a boat and we able to tie it up at the dock on the cleats (use of the boat lift is prohibited). The water was calm at the dock in the early morning and evenings, but was quite rough on the busy Saturday afternoon with so many boats on the lake. I was assured additional (or bigger) bumpers would be installed at the dock for future guests, but I recommend having additional large fenders on your boat when docked (our boat rental provided the larger fenders after we requested them for the second day). We did not swim at the dock (and diving off the dock is prohibited), but rather we boated to a quiet cove and anchored there to swim (highly recommend that). There was just one kayak at the dock, but there may have been more stored in the garage, I would inquire about that if you intend to kayak. Not only are the lake views stunning, but the property is so peaceful! We were amazed at how quiet the mornings were. So quiet that we saw deer, bunnies, and groundhogs with the only sound being the birds chirping! One last note, the property managers were just lovely to deal with and I was contacted before and during my stay to ensure my family had everything we needed. I truly appreciated that! You can confidently book a stay at Ferncliff, it is a perfect lakeside retreat for family and friends to gather. We made some wonderful memories this weekend and we look forward to returning to Ferncliff again!
