Welcome aboard our cozy 34' sailboat "Freedom" You will love falling asleep to the gentle rocking of a boat and waking up to the sounds of seagulls while you sip your coffee on the deck. She is setup for short term living aboard and offered limited weekends as an Airbnb on a mooring at Hartshorn Marina. It's a quick drive, walk or bike ride into town (Muskegon) for shopping and restaurants or follow the bike path to Pere Marquette Beach. A couple of days before you arrive we will send you instructions that walk you through the check-in process. The boat has two cabins and can sleep up to 6, but is best enjoyed by two people (it's a great romantic getaway). There is not a full kitchen aboard, so guests are encouraged to plan on eating out. There are many delicious places to eat in the area! (There is an icebox and running water, just no way to heat food aboard the boat) There is a toilet aboard the boat. This is a stay aboard boat and guests will not be allowed to take the boat out for a sail (we are sorry but our insurance agent wouldn’t go for it). Keep in mind that staying aboard a boat will not be the same as staying in a hotel or a home. Boats move when you walk, they have tripping hazards, the head space is less, stepping on and off can be challenging; so please set your expectations properly. We have gone to great lengths to make the space cozy and easy to get around in, however we encourage guests to look through the pictures and consider any personal mobility limitations that might make this a challenging stay. The boat is on a mooring, anchored off shore about a hundred yards. You will use a kayak to navigate from the dock to the boat and climb aboard. You will need to be able to effectively tie off the kayak to the boat so that you have a way back to shore! *Note for previous guests: YES, we have upgraded to a larger sailboat this season! You will also notice upgraded launch beach area and a better mooring location. Please see our previous reviews, but note that the 2023 season we have a larger vessel and even easier access :) *For parties larger than two, please message hosts to inquire if a larger party can be accommodated. This vessel can easily accommodate 4 guests, but arrangements for kayaks need to be made as standard booking includes 2 kayaks.
