Ahoy, me hearties! Set yer course for The Lazy Pirate! Just three miles from downtown St. Auggie and 6 miles from the nearest beach, this 3 bed/2 bath cottage-style treasure awaits. A fully restored 1946 historic gem, it's got coastal charm aplenty. Enjoy a stocked coffee/tea bar, a swashbucklin' kids' room, a retro Pac-Man arcade game, fire pit with a fenced yard, an outdoor mural, BBQ grill, candy vending machines, and the hidden pirate challenge. Avast ye, and come get lazy with us! St. Augustine was recently named “The South’s Best Small Town 2023” by Southern Living! Yes, you must visit here! Whether you are halfway across the world or live locally, St. Augustine warrants a visit. The oldest city in America, a.k.a. The Ancient City, has so much to offer. You can expect a wide variety of activities for everyone! This city has it all! Our pirate-themed house offers a fun Skull and Crossbones scavenger hunt. We hid 50 pirate skulls around the house for kids and adults to find! Hang out and have some drinks in our pirate pub while playing 60 retro arcade games with your friends or family. You can relax by the fire pit, roast s’mores, and play giant connect 4. The best part…..a huge St. Augustine mural painted across the fence for an awesome photo op! Each room has a ROKU smart TV with free Netflix, Disney +, HULU, and other apps. We do not have cable TV. Jam out in the kitchen while cooking your own meals with our Bluetooth speaker .We have classic board games galore and loads of toys for the kids! The alarm clocks in each room are also sound machines for easy sleeping and USB ports in the back for convenient charging. You can walk across the street to circle K and fill up on snacks. You can also walk to The Spot Cafe for a delicious breakfast or lunch (on the list of top 10 places to eat for breakfast in St. Augustine). You must go to V Pizza while you are in town. It just opened and it’s amazing! We are very close to the downtown historic district and the beach! We provide beach towels and beach toys as well. We tried to think of everything! This is a one-story home*** Please note we DO NOT TOLERATE PARTIES OR LARGE GATHERINGS. The number of guests in your reservation MUST match the number of guests who will be in the house at all times, which is no more than 8 guests at any given time. There will be a $500 fine for violating this policy and you will be asked to vacate the property. We also ask that only children stay in the pirate-themed room as the bunk beds are not made to accommodate adults. We have a Queen bed, Full bed, bunk beds, and a Queen sleeper sofa. We also have a pack-n-play and a toddler cot for the little ones who are too big for a pack-n-play but are not ready to sleep on a bed. ***6 Adults max seeing as the bunk beds are for kids. -You must be 25 years old to rent The Lazy Pirate. CLEANING - Our home is professionally cleaned and disinfected between each guest according to CDC guidelines and recommendations. We take the cleaning of our home very seriously and will do our best to maintain the safety of all our guests. I have stayed in many different airbnb homes. this one was by far my favorite. they had every thing you would need to accommodate a baby, toddlers and even my adult children. The pirate them and treasure hunt was sooo fun and enjoyable for the whole family. They provided everything a 5 star would offer and more. We will definitely be back
Super cute, cozy little get away. Our son absolutely LOVED the pirate scavenger hunt and old school video games. It was hard to get him OUT of the house! The house was super thoughtful with lots of cute little details in the decor. The outside area was also very nice (but we were too tired after a long day to really utilize). Had we stayed longer we would have built a fire and roasted marshmallows for sure. Would totally recommend this place for a young family. We would stay here again for sure.
This place is def a vacation itself. If you have kids or adults that likes arcades. This is perfect. The place is clean from top to bottom. Fully stocked kitchen. Close to downtown and beaches. Not to mention 9 mins drive to Publix or Winn Dixie. Would come back for a month if we can. We’ll miss you Davy Bones!
There is so much good to say about the Lazy Pirate that I don’t know where to begin. This is definitely the best AirBNB I’ve ever stayed in. From the lovely toiletries to the sound machines at the bedside to the coffee bar to the jar of ear plugs for train noise, the hosts thought of absolutely everything. We loved all the games and made good use of them. Even my 16 year old son and I enjoyed the pirate skull scavenger hunt. We found all 50…with hints. The home was absolutely squeaky clean, and the instructions at check-in and check-out were clear and proactively sent. The location is far enough from downtown to be quiet but close enough for easy access. In our opinion, the nearby train was not bothersome but rather soothing. I cannot say enough about this place. I didn’t want to leave and would love to return!
The whole family was happy with the place,even the toddler which is critical!!! The house was very clean and full of thoughtful amenities. A quick drive to downtown St Augustine.

This is not a gated community. We do not have a community pool or any community amenities. We are 6 miles from the nearest beach (Vilano Beach), 10 miles to St. Augustine Beach, and just minutes to downtown! You can walk to Circle K gas station, a convenience store, and The Spot Cafe (an absolute must for breakfast or lunch). There is a train just across the main street so you may hear the train during your stay (we love the sound of the train, but some may not). It’s a quiet neighborhood with lots of character and charm! The location is just outside of the historic district.
We have space for at least 4 cars in the driveway. Parking is very easy and free of charge. You can take an Uber downtown if you’d like or take a 5-10 minute drive downtown and use the parking garage, parking spots on the street, or parking lots. Bring cash downtown for the parking lots. The parking garage takes debit or credit. There is a park and ride just up the street as well, but this only runs during peak season and major events or holidays. You can check the city website for shuttle details and times.
