In the midst of working olive groves,in the shadow of the Taygetos mountains your nearest neighbours are 2 miles away in the nearest village, Kambos with two tavernas, a cafe-bar (Kourounis), an ouzeri and a supermarket. The sea is 30 minutes away but you come to our house to get away from the world watching a golden eagle fly overhead, to swim, to walk in the hills, to travel to places such as Mystras or just enjoy a long relaxed lunch or supper in Kambos square. The writers retreat has a pool -April 10 to end Oct-, fully furnished kitchen & luxurious living space on its top floor with verandas on both sides with views of deserted castles and rolling hills or up to the high mountains. On the bottom floor are 3 luxury bedrooms. The 2 double rooms have showers, there are enclosed flush loos in each bedroom. The air conditioning keeps the house cool in summer but heats it in winter. The olive groves cover 14000 sq metres and in December you can even join us on the harvest.

This is a beautiful house in a stunning location. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable for a family of 5. The views are magnificent. There is plenty to do in the area and the local village has good restaurants and shops for basic provisions. The road is a little hairy to navigate but well worth the effort.
It's impossible to really describe the absolute perfection of this location and property. The house has been renovated authentically and beautifully with no corners cut and with great attention to detail. Everything from the sinks to the sofas is of the highest quality and the infinity pool is out of this world - huge (you can see it from space!) spotlessly clean and with stunning views of the Peloponnese mountains on every side. It's like swimming in the foothills of Mount Olympus. Views from the two balconies are indescribably stunning. The kitchen is lovely and easy to cook in, the bedrooms are spacious and air conditioned, the living area, furnished with a big, solid table where we enjoyed many card games into the night. The nearest village, about a mile from the house- Kampos - is incredibly friendly with lovely places to eat and drink. If you are seeking peace, beauty, relaxation and a proper escape from the rat race, Thomas's wonderful property is the place.
Thomas house is one of the most special locations we’ve ever been to. It’s quite isolated and the road to get there a bit adventurous, but so worth it! The house is beautiful and the pool and view are just amazing !!! We really loved it and will probably/hopefully come back. Thomas was also super responsive and kind! Thanks again for this great week!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house with our 2 small kids (3 and 6). It was great being close to nature and the pool is amazing. The village nearby, Kambos, had everything we needed and it was only a short drive to the lovely beaches in the Mani peninsula. Thank you!

The friendly village of Kambos is 2.5miles away on a rough track but the Writer's Retreat is on its own with stunning views up into the high taygettos behind it and to the rolling hills of the Mani ahead of it. Kambos has two stores with all you need, four places to eat and c 550 people who are nearly all Greek and very few of whom speak English. But you will not meet more friendly or relaxed folks anywhere in the world
There is full parking for up to 4 cars up at the house which is at the end of a track 2.5 miles from Kambos which is half way between Kalamata and Kardamili. You will be using first gear driving up part of the track but you soon get used to it - we have recently upgraded the track to fill in all material pothles so it really is not a hard drive up.
