Antje was a fantastic host. The penthouse was well situated with a cafe ( Guyala Cafe) close by. The main drag of Cairns was a 20 min walk or 2 minute drive. The penthouse was very comfortable and well appointed for our stay. We will be back. Five stars

An extremely comfortable place - peaceful, clean and private. The Lagoon Pool is a couple of km walk away, or an Uber ride - but the walk is beautiful, and because the apartment is out of the town centre it is extremely quiet and peaceful at night. The apartment is very well furnished - including a washing machine and drier. The coffee maker with spare pods and milk in the fridge was thoughtful and made us feel welcome. There are also two good cafes an easy walk from the apartment. The view from the terrace is lovely, and (for me) watching the plane take off from or land at the airport was a bonus (I like planes). For anyone worried about aircraft noise, the airport does have a curfew overnight - so were slept well in the very comfortable beds. Remember to put the key back in the apartment's letterbox when you check out - NOT in the "Key Return" box at the front gate of the apartment complex. The complex is secure and safe, and the neighbours were all quiet. Highly recommended!

Although the apartment is located on the top floor of the building (along with a number of others), describing it as a ‘penthouse’ gives an impression of luxury, which was simply not the case. While the property was fairly clean, it was poorly appointed and furnished with old and uncomfortable furniture and fittings. In truth, the property needs a complete refresh, or at the very least, the existing furniture replaced with comfy couches and chairs and the glaring strip lighting with a softer alternative. The blinds in the bedrooms were also old and broken in places and need replacing. The large uncovered balcony was fairly uninviting with uncomfortable furniture and any views of the Esplanade substantially negated by a cement wall. The property is located at the very northern end of the Esplanade and so a car is necessary to access the CBD shops and restaurants. There was some aircraft noise, but not enough to bother us. Owner was responsive and fixed a blocked toilet.
