Nice little cottage would rent again! Had some sewer smell while we where there that’s only thing that bothered us

The setting was great. I loved the little dock and the grassy hills. The house is on the older side so some wear and tear was expected, but it has most of the basics and comfortable furniture. The reason for the 3 stars is the poor communication about the check out rules, which required significant cleaning. All towels and linens were expected to be washed, dried, and folded, the floors swept, the kitchen cleaned all before 10 am check out. And laundry detergent was not available. Also, trash was supposed to be left outside to be picked up on Sat (but my check out was Sun... so what was I supposed to do with Sunday's trash?) This was not posted on Airbnb listing, nor included in the booking info after I booked, nor communicated to me verbally or via text. It was just part of a packet left on the kitchen table that I in good conscience happened to reviewed at 9am before my departure. I wish the expectations were made clearer, because it would have influenced my decision to book.
