I booked Rachel’s cottage for my parents and they loved it. It’s very cozy, clean and tidy with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The view from the back is stunning and they were fortunate enough with the weather to be able to enjoy some meals outside. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location with lots to do in the area. The railway station is also close by for anyone without a car. They hope to book again.

We had a very positive experience with Miterdale Cottage, everything was clean and very well equipped. You get stunning views out of nearly every window. The communication with the host was easy going and very friendly. For travellers by train Ravenglass is a good choice, cause it offers a very good accessibility for coastal walks and shopping, or for bushwalking in the mountains. We would certainly come back!

Miterdale Cottage was really cosy and homely, and the bathroom was fantastic. The listing states that shampoo and shower gel is provided but I couldn't find any, and there isn't a shop in Ravenglass other than the post office, so I'd advise bringing your own. The cottage backs onto the beach which is great for the views and having a coffee on the decking. I saw quite a few egrets from the amazing bathroom panoramas window. Parking is good - there is space for one car directly outside the cottage and the welcome pack described where any second car could be parked. A pint of milk and packet of biscuits were in the kitchen on arrival, which were really appreciated.

Rachel was a good host and communicated well, responding quickly to issues. The property was really nice and clean and the 'bits and pieces' - welcome milk and biscuits, cloths, basic foods, foil etc were all appreciated. Guidance for visitors was clear and well set out. Heating was adequate with a mix of night storage heaters, coal fire (coal provided - good!) ..... just a bit 'faffy' when you're on the go. Fan heater to topped up evening heat. An improved kitchen (due to be installed) will be an asset. Different floor levels on the landing are a safety point to watch. Lovely views from the raised decking ... a pity the weather didn't cooperate for us! Upstairs views lovely. The decor reflected the past family use and was interesting - I would have been interested to know more about the history. Local attractions Muncaster Castle and railway closed during our stay - still half term for some schools. A pleasant stay in comfortable, clean house. Would return in spring/summer. Thanks!

What a great find ,felt at home as soon as we got settled in. It was a bit like visiting your Nans the cottage wrapped itself round you and you knew you were home. The view from the back was incredible. Beds were very comfortable , shower was very good the open fire was great. Kitchen was a bit small but then that is a cottage for you. I would highly recommend this cottage to any one .
