Rosewood lodge is a peaceful riverside retreat located in Moores Valley, Wainuiomata – a rural enclave of Wellington surrounded by native bush and found approximately 30 minutes from the city centre. Wainuiomata Regional Park is a stones throw away from the lodge and is on its way to achieving dark sky place accreditation. We are incredibly lucky to have this in our backyard as there are only four dark sky locations in New Zealand. See the stars unimpeded during your stay! Rosewood Lodge began its life as a boutique wedding venue and has since been converted into a spacious private retreat. The 200 square metre Lodge can comfortably sleep four, with one generously sized bedroom and an open plan living space featuring a quality sofa-bed, making the Lodge ideal for one or two couples. The space includes a generous veranda and patio, with an outdoor dining table overlooking established gardens perfectly suited for al fresco dining in the warmer months. The space also features an outdoor claw foot bathtub overlooking the garden, from which you can hear the Wainuiomata River flowing along the boundary of the property. Inside the Lodge you can warm your bones by the wood-burner, take a drink at the bar, or find a quiet reading corner. The Lodge includes a well equiped kitchen; bathroom with shower; and laundry space with washing machine. You will have the entire Lodge to yourself - all spaces and amenities are private. Please note that the industrial oven and dishwasher are not in working order - there is a bench-top oven and hot plate for guests' use. Rosewood Lodge is semi-detached dwelling situated within Rosewood Estate, consisting of other private dwellings and gardens. We kindly ask that our guests respect the privacy of other occupants on the property.
