We had a great time in Saffron Walden. Damien was quick to respond when we were concerned about parking in the car park. We had lunch at the 8 bells pub which is 100 yrds away. It was excellent. The heating wasn’t great but it is an extremely old building but if we could have controlled it, it would have been easier. We couldn’t find the thermostat anywhere for the 2 lower ground floors, but Damien controlled it for us promptly each time we felt chilly. Overall, the property is great for families and anyone confident with loft style steps.

The house is absolutely beautiful we honestly had the best get away great for family’s and adults highly recommend and will definitely be returning!!!

A lovely short break. The house was immaculate when we arrived. Exactly as shown in the photos. The house is gorgeous, really lovely attention to detail. The little extras like the hot tub, BBQ and hidden rooms really made the stay that extra bit special for Christmas. We had a few issues when we arrived but Damian was quick to respond to any issues we had. Thank you for a wonderful few days

The main selling points for us: - the quirky Tudor house design and layout - the Harry Potter themed rooms/secret rooms -the games room and personal ‘cinema’ - the kitchen and coffee facilities. The issues: - all of the upstairs bedrooms were completely cold on arrival. - had to troubleshoot thermostat, but radiators needed to be bled in our room (so 2 very cold nights). - woke to find coffee machine couldn’t pour a single cup of coffee m (it needed maintenance). Damian brought in a different machine later that day. - The snooker table was in terrible condition, but we couldn’t even play on the first night as the cues didn’t even have tips attached. - Nor did the darts have flights that could fit them. - The Harry Potter themed bedrooms, which are above a sketchy set of stairs, is clearly for kids but the stairgate was missing a fixing (unsafe), so we couldn’t let our kids (6+4) sleep up there. - Slytheryn room was completely empty ?? So deflating! Even for a 4 year old!
