On arriving at this place you’ll be met with a 24 hour door guard who will let you in and out of the building every day; not a self-check in lock box. You’ll take an elevator to a roof floor where you’ll be immediately hit with the smell of the garbage disposal room. The main door is a walk-in, never locked. The only key you get is left inside your bedroom door. There are several bedrooms, I believe 12 in total - though they are actually rooms split down the middle with thin partitions between each space, so you’ll be able to hear absolutely everything everyone else is doing around you all night long - think of it as a hostel vibe. The room is poorly decorated, extremely small and has a damp smell coming through the air vents which blow onto the bed. The other guests were perfectly pleasant and friendly and the bathroom and shared areas were kept clean. The area is very much the working class part of Dubai, mostly south Asian, with great cheap street food. I wouldn’t return personally.
