I just completed my second trip to Nepal and came back to the residence for the last couple of days. I was not disappointed, the place is as I remembered, calm and peaceful, with a countryside vibe, but at the same time at a walking distance (25mins) of a major touristic center. The people there are warm and authentic. I'll go back there if I come back to Nepal a third time 😄

We were welcomed into a beautiful home by Prakriti, who was a perfect host - friendly, warm and made us feel so comfortable. She cooked us delicious food with local ingredients, and bananas from the garden! Prakriti and her husband were so nice to chat to and really made our stay so enjoyable. The rooms were so bright and spacious with a balcony and the surroundings of the property were just stunning, we looked out onto fields and hills. It really was the perfect stay, thank you!

Altamente recomendable: cómodo y tranquilísimo de noche, alejado del tormento de la ciudad. Prakriti es un encantó y nos ayudó mucho a organizar visitas y los taxis correspondientes. Es la única persona en todo nuestro periplo que lo hizo de manera transparente y eficaz, sin tomarse comisiones abusivas. También fue la única de todo el viaje que hablaba muy bien inglés, cosa muy práctica para comunicarse y organizar las visitas. Las cenas allá mismo son deliciosas, con verduras del huerto, leche de la vaca del vecino, ... El trato es exquisito y es de lejos la persona que nos ha acogido con más cariño y atenciones. Volveríamos muy a gusto en su casa.

I had a great stay in the residencia Sulabha! In a peaceful neighbourhood, at the edge the countryside, this place provides a lovely escape to the dense, often overwhelming centre of Katmandu. You’ll find peace and will be well cared by Prakriti and her family - all are super welcoming. It is at a walking dancing (30mins) of the magnificent centre of Bhaktapur, and close to the airport (you’ll get there for a 10$ ride, that Prakriti arranged for me). There are also a handful of nice temples and hikes in the other direction, towards the mountains. I also really like the fact that people around aren’t used to see tourists, which lead me to a lot of random, genuine, beautiful encounters with the natives. Also a big thanks to Praful, Prakrit’s brother, who was excellent guide and companion. I will repeat if I come back 🙂

I had a wonderful stay at Prakriti's Place (Sulabha Residency)! Prakriti was very communicative before my stay and gave a warm welcome on arrival. The room was bright and clean with lovely decor, an ensuite (with an excellent shower), a comfortable bed and plenty of privacy. I particularly enjoyed the stunning view from the balcony and had restful sleep during my stay. Prakriti cooked a delicious breakfast and dinner, with a different combination of dishes for each meal. I especially enjoyed the Dahl, fresh yoghurt and vegetables (many of which were from the garden!). Prakriti has a strong knowledge of the area and gave plenty of advice on places to visit and how to get there. I went to Bhaktapur Dhurbar Square and Changanarayan which are excellent sites that can be reached easily. However, my favourite excursion was the 1.5 hour hike Prakriti recommended from the accommodation which takes you past a beautiful temple and scenic views. After a busy day exploring, it was especially nice to return to Sulabha Residency and relax with a cup of tea. Overall, I had a really enjoyable stay at Sulabha residency and would highly recommend. It is a lovely and unique way to experience Bhaktapur while in a peaceful setting with an exceptional host.
