This cottage is a great getaway for families! My kids loved playing in the creek out back, splashing in the hot tub, and swinging on the huge swing out front. There are lots of games in the living room and plenty of outdoor space to explore. There’s also a tall fence and gate separating the house from the main road, which was great for peace of mind as the kids played outside. The whole yard is idyllic, with redwoods, singing birds, and the sounds of the creek. Indoors the cottage makes good use of the space and was clean and cute. A 20-minute drive east takes you to hike through redwood groves, and a 20-minute drive west to the Sonoma coast beaches. Really an ideal spot!

We really liked staying here, it fit our group of 6 comfortably, and we loved using the hot tub and just hanging out, and having the Armstrong redwood nature reserve with the hiking trails was perfect for our little cabin weekend. It was rainy most of the time we were here, but we could easily see how fun it would be to hang out in the yard and near the river. We're already trying to figure out how we could come again when it's warmer.

A nice cabin in the woods. The deck is serene with the hot tub and the surrounding trees. We found the house itself is a bit more funky than expected, however functional. Tall people take note that the ceilings are sloped and are approximately 6’4” on the very edge. In the center, it is fine. Additionally, during the day road noise is very prominent from a medium busy highway 20 feet from front door.

Staying at Rachele’s place was everything I hoped it would be and more. All of the touches around the space make it feel like you’re staying at a friend’s cabin, not just a rental. My son LOVED the swing and spend tons of time flying around on it. I loved that we could just go sit by the creek and enjoy the woods. My husband loved the hot tub and being able to build fires outdoors and indoors. It’s in such a lovely spot if you’re looking to feel secluded from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to drive into Guerneville or stop by Gold Coast bakery for the most amazing cinnamon rolls. I hope that we get a chance to stay again in the future!
