This is the first (only?) Airbnb I’ve stayed at that *exceeded* expectations instead of disappointing. Beautiful, fully accessible for our wheelchair-bound family, peaceful and quiet, just genuinely couldn’t have been better in any way. 🤌 We’ll be back to this one every time we visit Door County; there’s no question.

We have been visiting Door County every fall for over 20 years, and never once did we ever think of staying in Sturgeon Bay. Cotes Cottage was a perfect place for the five of us and we made good use of the beach and fire ring. It for sure is in the running for a return visit, and the communication from the host was amazing.

What a wonderful stay! Really quiet and peaceful. Right on the water. Only things to note is that the inside is smaller than advertised in the pictures. Not at all a problem because it’s perfectly cozy! The house also is quite close to the other cabin on the property but the other tenant was super friendly and helped us with the grill and we got to meet his dog! Only one other “problem”. The water that runs into the house has a a strong sulfur smell like well water. It got a bit much after taking showers and washing dishes for a few days. Otherwise, the host was extremely responsive. We had a problem with the coffee maker and she was able to swap it out super quickly! A good note for other guests, you may be reluctant with no AC but we did great with the windows open- honestly it got pretty cold at night. We will hopefully be back and able to enjoy! What a beautiful location.

Although our visit landed during an unseasonally chilly and gray week, I'm so glad we booked such a charming and comfortable home to spend (unexpectedly large!) amounts of time. We LOVED the gorgeous view, and braved the water, despite it being only 58° (hint: after five or ten minutes you can't feel anything anyway, and it's not so bad.) The house had everything we needed for a chill family getaway. Definitely recommend!
