The villa itself is in a fantastic location, only a small walk to both the marina and the beach. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcoming gift containing wine, some cleaning towels, and milk which was a lovely surprise. Check in was easy and comfortable. However the shortcomings of the stay was in the details. There was a distinct lack of cleaning supplies and household items such as no broom/brush/vacuum cleaner, only 2 toilet rolls, no hand soap, no salt/pepper and no extra garbage bags. The washing machine was located outside in a locked shed in which we did not have the code to and therefore could not clean towels or clothes. The pool was dirty mainly due to the large tree overshadowing it, which resulted in bird faeces covering loungers and areas of the pool which in turn attracted more bugs and pests to the area. The pool was only cleaned on the Wednesday of our stay when we were told it would be cleaned on the Saturday as well. Unfortunately the tree also restricted sunshine to the pool area for most of the day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Villa Gloria but the price of the stay did not reflect the quality of which we anticipated.
I thought the apartment was perfect. We were a couple and it was very clean. I read some earlier reviews about the pool being dirty and the house being run down which I was hesitant about booking but we found it very clean. Yes, the pool had some bits of leaves, etc that fell from the tree above but it takes a few seconds to scoop them out using the rod that is by the pool. Only downsides - beds not super comfortable for the price you pay which is about that of a good hotel and there was no aircon which, in summer, means a difficult sleep, even though we had 3 fans in the room.
