We offer an all-inclusive weekend for a couple in France, in the picturesque Bordeaux region, on a breath-taking nature reserve estate where you can relax and enjoy the best of our local wine and dining.
Lieu exceptionnel, habitations de grande qualité, équipements du site impeccable. Vie très agréable sur ce lieu plein de charme et de naturel.
This was a very special experience. So peaceful, living as if alone in nature. A symphony of sounds from birds (the duck family on the mini island on our private lake). A night sky completely free of pollution allowed the full view of the stars. And we loved the apple juice made from the ancient breeds of trees- who knew there was such a thing as an “apple museum “?!? Thank you to funny friendly horses for their welcome during our coffee walk in the morning. We will definitely be back.
Very nice spot in the middle of the property. The cabane is heading a nice pond. The all area is magnificent Thanks for everything
Incroyable lieu, pour profiter de la nature et du calme. Nous avons adores et reviendront très vite se ressourcer dans cette superbe "cabane dans les arbres" . Merci à Alex pour son accueil, à très vite !
The local village is a 5 minute walk and has and excellent butcher/epicerie with all the supplies you need (even decent wine, cheese, and extremely high quality vegetables and fruit). Next door is the bakery which does lovely croissants and vienoiseries (the best baguettes are the sesame).
There is even a local Friday night "apero" market under a covered outside structure where all local produce can be purchased (or eaten/drunk on the spot with tables). A 10 minute bike ride along the path takes you to a larger town with restaurants, large grocery stores, excellent fishmarket and anything you should require. You are tucked away in a nature paradise (with all the facilities) but you are not far from civilisation at any point. You are spoiled for choice with the local produce to make all your meals. However, you can always call in our neighbour, the Michelin chef who recently sold his restaurant to cook you anything you desire.
Our other neighbour (a few minutes walk) has a small vegetable market open only friday afternoon and saturday mornings where you'll find direct out of the garden vegetables and fruit. Beware, they still have dirt on them and never met a pesticide in the history of that land. You can drive 2 minutes away for the "perfection, no dirt in sight" variety of the local organic vegetable shop (with cheeses and additional specialty treats).
You'll be able to access everything nearby on foot or on bike along the bikepath that runs behind our property to the the larger local town one way (for restaurants, markets, larger shops) or go the other way and ride all the way into Bordeaux (45 minutes). If you're ambitious, carry on and you'll make it to the seaside in Arcachon. We have bikes to borrow on site. (a mish-mash from the family collection, so nothing organised here).
Public transport isn't great. You can catch a bus to Bordeaux within a 5 minute walk to town. But don't count on the schedule suiting yours. If you want to tour the area, a car is your best option. We do have our local friendly taxi driver in his electric BMW - but a ride to Bordeaux will cost you upwards of 45 euros. Airport can run closer to 90. But he's a text message away and on demand when you need him. Uber, while it exists, is not quite as reliable in this area.. This is countryside with all the benefits and drawbacks :-)
