Have you ever wondered why houses made of mud walls have moderate temperatures, irrespective of the season? That’s because mud walls are naturally insulated, providing thermal comfort inside the house. During soaring summers, the inside temperature will be lower, while in winters, the mud walls will comfort you with their warmth. Additionally, the pores also allow a cool breeze to enter the house. “Mud buildings are similar to the human body. Mud walls, being porous, can breathe, like our skin. This helps in maintaining comfortable indoor temperature, irrespective of extreme weather conditions outside. . Meanwhile, pinewood has been used to construct the roofing. The walls are porous, which means it does not retain heat, but at the same time, allows air to penetrate and keeping the room cooler during summer and warm during winters.
We stayed at Arvind’s place for a night only. Overall stay was good. Decent property with a comfortable distance to the Kasauli mall road. We got the room on the lowest floor so the valley view was blocked. I believe the rooms on the top would have a best view and worth paying every penny. The food was decent and homely. Arvind is a great host and a super helpful guy.
Earth house was amazing and honestly better than the pictures posted. Arvind made sure that our stay was comfortable. Totally recommend.
First off, the location of the property is misleading on Airbnb. It is not near Mall Road, instead it is close by to Hangout Bar/Kasauli Regency. I had selected this property because Airbnb showed the location as close by to those landmarks. That was the only negative I had. There is a bus service just further up the road (likely every 20-30 minutes) that takes you into the city. Gracious and wonderful Superhost. Arvind was very helpful with local sightseeing suggestions and dining options. I had requested that I was looking for pine cones as souvenirs and he went out of his way to find them. The room was excellent and clean. And the Airbnb is well maintained. Would also recommend the local home-cooked, vegetarian dishes at the Airbnb There is a common area for meals or work. Thank you Arvind for the wonderful stay
The eco chalet is landscaped so beautifully that we were left admiring the property as much as we were in awe of the views from it. Arvind looks after every detail and is the perfect host — unobtrusive yet prompt. He’s an artist and every corner of his property has a distinct charm. The machan is where we ate our meals at the property (delicious!) and there’s a beautiful sun-filled room where breakfast is laid. Both areas are stunning with unobstructed views of Kasauli. Parking is available at the property and the main areas of attraction are very well within reach. We would love to return and stay for longer.

自我介绍
Born and brought up in kasauli, a Sculptor ,music lover and longing for living in the hills made me settle here permanently. At the same time I strive to create environmental awareness amongst my guests. I customize treks depending upon my guests stamina ranging from visit to a nearby stream (depending on the season) , toy train ride , or a trek through the forest. I myself am a mountain bike freak , enjoy frequent off roading. “The adoption of Western cooking practices and cookware increase the risk of health problems such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, malnutrition, and obesity. I follow traditional cooking practices in my home, i.e., use of earthen cookware, clay pots and copper, iron, and brass,” . It’s almost like reliving your childhood when pollution and chemicals were just words in the dictionary and the school laboratory. And the best part? It brings back memories of your grandmother’s cooking. “The entire homestay is inspired by local pahari architecture and use double thick walls with no RCC roofs. The rock and mud walls were made entirely by locals of the village community, using interlocking bricks and least concrete.” The rooms have been designed in a way that they are appropriately ventilated and exploit maximum natural light, hence reducing the burden on electricity during the day time.
