We came for the eclipse and traffic was a little worse because of that. We ended up getting there later than expected, but Barbara was very flexible about it and had the place ready to go when we rolled in. Place is in a great location and walking distance from an early morning coffee shop. Easy to get out of town and see the Milky Way without having to do any camping. Loved it!

Barbara is a great host. She even allowed me to go inside her own home to do laundry. She is very kind and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to the area. It’s Main Street, but off the main road for private parking and living. Clean, comfortable, and perfect size for a couple. I’ll be staying here again next year when I visit the area again. Thank you Barbara, you are such a wonderful lady and kind person. I appreciate you.

My husband and I rented Barbara’s apartment for a couple nights to explore Mesa Verde and mountain bike Phil’s World. The location of the apartment is great and we were allowed to check in early. Overall, our stay was disappointing due to several reasons. There was a gas heater with an improperly installed gas line that was leaking gas into the space, yet we were told by both the caretaker and Barbara that the smell was normal and it was okay to use. We still did not feel comfortable using it so we requested and were provided an electric heater. The following day, a repair man came to check the heater and said numerous alarming comments, indicating that the heater could have been lethal had we not listened to our intuition and shut it off. He said there were wrong parts used and someone had attempted to patch it with plumbers putty and painters tape, that he had never seen anything like it in his 30 years working and there was no way it was installed by a professional. We brought up our dissatisfaction about the safety issue to Barbara and she said ‘these things happen’ and that she thought the repair man was incorrect about the connection components being wrong. She was unwilling to consider giving us the partial refund we requested, so we brought it to air bnb who issued us a full refund. Additionally, there was no toilet paper stocked when we arrived, there was a soiled dog bed on the back porch and half of the bath towels had paint and other stains on them. By the end of our stay, we had been interrupted nearly 10 times to have various issues resolved. To Barbara’s credit, she did provide toilet paper and an alternative heater once requested, and she did have a repair man come out. However, all things considered, I would not recommend this rental.

The location was within 15 minutes of Mesa Verde, the reason for our visit. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided along with some extras, like milk, cereal, and snacks. There was an enclosed back yard which was great for our dog to get out on her own. TV and internet worked well.
