Utupoa was more beautiful and impressive than even the great photos on this listing. Joyce was a very attentive host who joins her guests for dinner whenever possible & often. Her manager Sally and her chef Georgie offer such gracious service and superbly delicious meals! It is situated right by a gorgeous piece of white sand, super warm, clear blue water ocean beach. Utupoa provides lounging chairs to sunbathe on directly in front of the ocean. This place is truly a piece of paradise! The shower in the tower has hot water which i personally love! And although there’s no air conditioning and it’s gets very hot there, the fan above the bed creates very cooling wind! I loved it! Taking meals upstairs with a gorgeous expansive view of the ocean was one of my favorite things about this stay. Watch out for the solicitors who may even pretend to work for Utupoa constantly nagging for your business. My daughter and I had a fabulous time at Utupoa! Thank you Joyce, Sally, & Georgie

Me and my husband have had the best honeymoon at Joyce’s place. The sandy beach was absolutely stunning, the ocean was clear and it was very peaceful. Joyce has been a wonderful host and has shared many interesting stories with us. We mainly ate at a shared table with other guests from different parts of the world and the food was delicious. On a couple of occasions we went out to the local Sisi Kwa restaurant. Would definitely recommend to try their prawn curry and the best of all sea platter. There was a lot to experience from the reach history, culture, various spices and many fun activities on the island. A big thank you to Joyce and hear team especially to Monica, Sally and everyone else who have made our stay truly special. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of it and are thinking of coming back again to explore what else Zanzibar has got to offer. A truly unique and unforgettable honeymoon experience!

The best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Every detail was unmatched, you are welcomed with guava juice, and shown to your room, which ours was decorated with fresh flowers. The view is right on the Indian Ocean, she has a beautiful swimming pool, garden, and main house. Every night she welcomes guests to a communal dinner table, with local food and fresh catch of the day. The environment is very relaxing, and friendly, her staff are very sweet and the vibe is just so cool. They also have breakfast, with eggs, crepes, and fresh coffee. If you are going to Zanzibar, stay here. Just don’t question it. -Rachael and Ben

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Utupoa. It is a truly beautiful place to relax and enjoy the time in the authentic Zanzibari style. We shared countless lovely moments with Joyce who is a wonderful host. The diners at the round table are amazing, so many beautiful people coming together to share stories and have fun. Thank you Joyce and the staff for making our stay unforgettable!
