We had to purchase $2k worth of drapes, art, air conditioners, paint, mold removal and he charges a cleaning fee but the place was filthy. We had to take showers at planet fitness because the bathroom and water are disgusting. We had to send our laundry out because the laundry equipment is just sitting outside in the elements and the water smells. Also he has tenants that he yells at because they don’t pay rent. Also - he let some poor homeless girl move Into one of his vacant trailers with no water or power. There is also no working internet or cable. No beautiful fruit trees either. The place is over run and disgusting. We tried to fix it up for him because he is old and clearly not well. He promised he would return the money we spent to fix up his place. Of course he avoided us to avoid paying. We left weeks early and cut our losses.

Carson’s description is accurate. This is an old house divided into 3 apartments. I spent almost 2 months in the Gardenia Suite. The beds were comfortable. Floor air conditioners in the bedrooms and living room worked very well. Many days were high 80’s low 90’s the air conditioners kept every room cool. Wi-Fi and cable work well. Bathroom was clean. Tub, sinks and toilet have stains due to the iron content in the well water. I do suggest bottled water for drinking and making coffee and tea. The kitchen is adequate. This is located in a great area. Close to beaches, shopping and downtown Stuart. This place shows its age. It does need updating, but I found it offered what was important to me. Comfortable, great location, and a great host.

Carson is a nice person but his unit is not what I would have expected especially for the price charged When I finally found the property I entered the unit and sat for two hours after turning on all of the portable air units trying to air out the unit as the entire place had a overall wet mildewy odor. It didn’t work and I had to leave. During my wait I asked where the washer and dryer were located so I can try to get settled and maybe get some laundry done but was told that I would have to give my clothes to owner and he would wash and dry and return because washer and dryer buttons break easily. I opted out of that option. I explored the unit a little more and there wasn’t anything that could convince me to stay any longer. I love nature so I chose this place hoping it would be a nice retest during my florida vacation but the uncleanliness of the interior and the smell was unbearable .

The outdoor shower was over grown, making it unable to use. the shower head was pretty gnarly. the home had a mildew smell. but Carson was an absolute gentleman. i always appreciate when someone allows me to stay in their home. but this place was not what was advertised.
