This is a great house for a large family gathering, the tree house was a total hit with the kids and is amazing. The main house is well used. When you pay a large cleaning fee ($250) it is a bit rich to be asked to bring your own laundry liquid and threatened with loss of deposit if all towels used are not washed and dried before departure.

Betsy’s home is beautiful and in a terrific location. Completely private and secluded, yet close to the Warren store, 10 min to Waitsfield (shaws, restaurants, Lawsons), 1 hour to burlington airport, and 30 min to waterbury. Very thorough instruction manual and recommendations. Hot tub at the main house is a treat with the babbling brook in the background, treehouse is SO COOL, and we all became obsessed with the massive couch with four recliners, cup holders, charging stations, it had it all. Loved that there were extra sheets in each room and plenty of towels because some people in our group left early and others could move around rooms for more comfort. Most beds were reported to be comfortable (we didn’t have anyone sleep on the top bunks as they didn’t feel sturdy enough for adults- could probably be okay for kids though). Dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper and one roll of paper towels provided. Would be a great house for ski season but it was gorgeous for our peak leaf trip!

What a wonderful weekend with friends at a great property for entertaining. Both the main house and tree house are thoughtfully designed and excellently furnished. There are a lot of rules but I appreciate the care they’ve taken to ensure the property remains in the same great condition as it was on arrival. Betsy is super responsive and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We would love to stay here again! 5 stars.

Betsy was a great host, she was great at communicating any potential issues and was proactive before check-in. Our experience was easy, and the location was fantastic. I do wish the instructions and rules were sent a bit prior to our stay as we would have packed differently and purchased items that were required such as coffee, laundry detergent for the towel washing and towels for the Mad River swim holes. but overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

What an amazing stay! We were visiting VT with a rather large group to celebrate my son’s college graduation. We couldn’t have picked a better place. Betsy’s Red Barn and the Tree House were perfectly located in the Mad River Valley. The home/compound is easy to find and very close to downtown Warren. You are very close to Sugarbush for downhill skiing and even closer to the local XC ski spots. The layout of the Main House is just so wonderful for hosting a huge group! We made dinners and breakfast each day and the kitchen was equipped perfectly to handle the many people we fed. There were 2 refrigerators to handle the large amounts of grub we brought. Beds were super comfy. There were plenty of extra blankets for folks to warm up with. We happened to be there on the coldest night in VT in 30 years- and the heat kept up with the demand. No frozen pipes or heating problems at all. We enjoyed the hot tub too. The tree house was incredible also. Betsy was very kind and communicated well.
