This was my second visit in a year! I came with my daughter last summer and when my husband saw pictures and heard how magical it was he said he had to see it so we went for our 25th anniversary. Giovanna was so wonderful-even made us a cake for our anniversary ❤️ make sure you book several days here so you have time to visit Rome and also soak in Roccantica because it is so serene and beautiful you’ll never want to leave. You’re far from the noise and tourists, living in a piece of history! (Tho the plumbing and amenities are 100% current and luxurious!) you HAVE to hike the San Leonardo-it’s an absolute must. It’s got waterfalls, amazing ruins, and is just covered in flowers and greenery. We can’t wait for our next visit! Thank you again for a perfect trip!!!

This is a magical place, and we had a very warm and friendly welcome from Giovanna and Massimo. Our flight was delayed (and then the local road was closed!) but they were there to welcome us and gave clear instructions on getting there. It’s a fully equipped house, comfortable beds, cool during hot days and with the most spectacular views from the terrace garden. There are several lovely walks nearby and many beautiful villages and towns to explore in this stunning area. Highly recommended!

Roccantica was by far our favorite stay in Italy—or anywhere! It was lovely and cool inside the gorgeous home, and outside felt like being in a movie. The village captures everything we love about Italy: incredible art and architecture, rich history, a kind community, the beautiful countryside, and of course, awesome food! This place is a rare gem left undiscovered by tourists, tucked nicely into the scenic mountains on the outskirts of Rome. Giovanna was an amazing host; she stocked the house with plenty of food, communicated frequently, and always made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. One thing is certain—we will be back! Note: it is wise to rent a car if possible, as Roccantica is somewhat remote. However, we went without a car and relied on the local bus, which always ran on time and took about 25 minutes to take us to the nearest train station. We made several day trips and never felt stranded or inconvenienced.
