Our second stay in this beautiful air b&b and it was just as lovely. Such a beautiful setting with a view you would never get tired of looking at. Again, Elizabeth was welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. This is one of the best places we've ever stayed and we had a wonderful weekend. If you're thinking of booking here you absolutely MUST because you won't find anywhere better!
Mountain views, quite stony beaches, clifftop walks, dolphins, seals... great location if you love the outdoors! The accommodation was well equipped and spotlessly clean.
We had a lovely stay at Liz's place, it was a prefect base for snowdon and the local area walks. Liz has kitted the cottage out with everything you could need. Liz was a great host, really friendly and approachable. Would highly recommend and we are hoping to stay again in the future .
Gorgeous property, everything was spotless. In a beautiful location with the pebble beach nearby. Had one rainy day and the board games Liz provided came in very useful. Would happily come here again.
Great location five minutes walk from the sea at rugged Trefor beach. Ideal for reaching destinations on the peninsula but also further up or down the coast, onto Anglesey or over into Eryri/Snowdonia. Everything was clean, well maintained and very calm. Liz is very helpful and a great host.
Trefor is a village which grew up as a result of a granite quarry.
Rising steeply behind the village is Yr Eifl, a range of three mountains that dominate the skyline. The one nearest the sea is the lowest and the site of the quarry, the middle is the highest and the next one is home to Tre'r Ceiri, a hillfort dating back to the Iron Age. The name means 'town of the giants'. Evidence suggests the settlement was first built around 200 BC, though most of the archaeological finds date from AD 150–400, showing the site continued as a settlement during the Roman occupation and it is one of the best examples of a Stone Age or Neolithic settlement in Europe.
The Welsh Coastal path can be accessed by walking from the property down to the sea (a few minutes only).
There is a small harbour where kayaks and paddleboards can be launched and there is fishing off the harbour wall.
Unless you are cycling of course, aa car is preferable, butTrefor is on a bus route from Caernarfon to Pwllheli. During the summer, for those wishing to walk down the Llyn Peninsular, there is a minibus which can take you to the start of or from the end of the walk - this has to be arranged in advance.
