First, I just would like to start off by saying I’ve been participating in Airbnb locations for about nine years now. I was raised in JA & every year I return to visit close family. Our host Kadian was actually very friendly and nice. I liked her. The property consist of very nice floors, high ceilings, and a pretty simple, yet nice layout. The residence is indeed in a gated, calm/ quiet community. The community is very clean with fabulous landscaping! Upon arriving though, the residence was not ready, as it being thoroughly cleaned and prepared for our stay. That was a little annoying, but Kadian explained that she was just notified of our arrival and there wasn’t much time for her to prepare. That’s understandable and we couldn’t necessarily blame her for that. The community is located in an isolated area which may or may not be suitable depending on the intentions of your visit. If one is coming for more tourist reasons, it may not be as convenient, as you’ll have to drive out to encounter the more prominent attractions of the country/parish. If you don’t own or rent a car, you could easily spend a significant portion of your funds in taxi services alone. But it was suitable for me, as I have family there who can bring me back-and-forth conveniently. The property is also located right by N. South Highway, which can bring you right to Ocho Rios if that is an interest. The home itself was quite nice. There is a little veranda area to sit on and just catch a vibe. The rooms are all good sizes. The kitchen has more of an open concept, which we enjoyed. However, upon arrival, we realize that the home clearly was not cleaned or thoroughly clean for the matter. The counters were covered in dust from start to end. I mentioned this to our host while she was there. She attributed the dust to open creeks that was in the home. That made no sense. Even considering the three weeks we were there, and even considering the doors being consistently closed and open and all other activity, there still was not that amount of dust that had accumulated on any of the furniture surfaces. I have an extreme allergy to dust, hence why that aspect of the experience was quite frustrating for me. The bathrooms were not clean as well. We pointed this out to our host while she was present. Like I said, I’ve been doing this for almost a decade and within many of my experiences, property owners have not cleaned their residence thoroughly before guests arrive. This is why I am prompted to scrutinize the property once I arrive before the host departs. The sinks were not cleaned. There were toothpaste and soap residue outwardly present. The tubs were obviously not cleaned as well as I recognized dirt around the lining of both tubs. The toilets were a complete mess. My mother had to come in and clean them both because we didn’t recognize how awful they were until our host departed. There were urine stains under the toilet that looked as if it had been there for months and months on. It clearly was not cleaned within the timeframe of us arriving or even way before. It was so disgusting, and I felt horrible that my mother was put in the position to clean such a mess! The comfort of the king size bed was okay. The queen size and the two twin beds were definitely uncomfortable. The pillows were also extremely deflated and provided very little, if any comfort at all. We were informed upon arriving that the oven was not in use. I’m not sure why they thought this would be okay or perhaps they don’t expect people to come here and use the stove. But like I said, I was raised here, and come here for a few weeks annually to spend time with mom & family. So I am someone who always cooks or family will cook for certain. So a working stove is imperative. Both the stove and oven. I will say that the oven was fixed shortly before we were scheduled to leave. The sofa was very uncomfortable. At first it appears as if it is a true sectional. But the two pieces are not connected, whatsoever. That causes the two sofa pieces to consistently pull away and slide apart from each other. This was a true nuisance, as we had to continuously keep pushing the two pieces together which was indeed ineffective but there was nothing else we could do. They were dirty as well and could use a shampoo. Upon examination you can obviously tell that the sofa is dirty and needs to be cleaned. We had to place towels on the sofa because we were not comfortable sitting on them bare. There was barely any hot water present for the duration of our stay. The hot water would be lukewarm for about a minute and a half. I complained several times about it and I was told that it was an issue that would have to be sorted out by a specific source or agency that would have to schedule an appointment to come take a look at it. So basically for approximately 3 weeks while we were there, there was no hot water. That was frustrating as well. The host mentioned that perhaps we all can’t take showers at the same time or right after one another. The water was cold before the first person even completed their shower and no other sources of water were occupied during the showers. Whatever system they had for the hot water was just simply ineffective. A change of lights could be used in the living room and open area as well. They were so dull. The bathroom in the master bedroom smelled awful at night, almost like a dirty sewer that needed to be cleaned. Every...

Really nice place! Nicely furnished and maintained. Convenient to highway and in quiet, secure community. Michelle and Kadiann were awesome - flexible and responsive.
