Exactly as hoped…a beautiful and comfortable place to stay in nature close to Daylesford and surrounded by lovely walks. Comfortable beds, excellent bath/shower, fab fireplace and well equipped kitchen.

Check you follow the instructions to call the office 5 days before during office hours to obtain the code or you won’t be able to get in. Nice place, lovely area, great welcome basket, shame about quality of cleanliness/upkeep. -bin not emptied (overflowing with prev guest rubbish) -bed not changed (but made) -stained /creased (clearly slept in) sheets -no toiletries as specified -old guests towels in bath -bath/shower not cleaned -1/3 roll toilet roll only for 4 days -hook falling off wall in bathroom -contents of prev guests bathroom bin left on floor. No new bin bags left -No firelighters or kindling -Fire hearth not cleaned (appreciate it says ash will be left inside)

Very quaint cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. Peaceful and quiet. Quite remote , transport is essential. There was a lovely bag of goodies for us including milk, tea, coffee, eggs and biscuits. Very much appreciated. The mattress was a tad too soft for our liking and both sofa seats were quite worn but still very manageable for a few days. Internet signal is not consistent but our mobile 4G signal was ok.

A perfect few days away in the Hideaway. The cottage is beautiful and it’s in a great location - tucked away but nearby pub (The Fox) and Daylesford within walking distance. We really appreciated the little touches including leaving eggs, milk, biscuits and juice from local suppliers. The only shame was that we were snowed in for two days - nothing you can do about the weather (!) but we’d requested some grit as it’s remotely located on private land which made it tricky with the ice. Other than that, it was perfect!

We had a nice stay at the hideaway. Check in was a little problematic - the agency who run the maintenance and servicing for the property didn't directly send us the information to access the property (there's a gate which requires a code, and then the keypad to get the keys to the property itself - neither were provided). Upon reaching the property, there was no answer on any phone numbers provided so we buzzed the main property from the gate and the owner let us in. There was no welcome or apology from the actual owner, the first thing he said to us was that the main property was private, so hardly welcoming or understanding after being sat in traffic for hours and realising you have no way of entering something you've paid quite a bit of money for. The property and grounds itself are very nice. The hideaway is very well specced - kitchen and bathrooms particularly are of high quality. The décor and furnishings are very typical cotswolds-esque and the bed was very comfortable. The property was mostly clean, but I'd advise the management company to pay more attention to soft furnishings like rugs as those weren't the cleanest. There are also signs of a bit of wear and tear from previous guests (hooks on wall falling off and water damage where velux windows have been left open during the rain, for example). There's plenty of space to explore on the grounds and nearby walks - particularly enjoyed walking to Daylesford farm. A note for guests to consider - this hideaway is attached to another property and you can hear through walls. It's really luck of the draw who ends up next to you, but something to be mindful of if you're after complete peace and quiet. The parking for the property is also a short walk from the front door across cobbled path, again something to be mindful of if you have accessibility requirements. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but thought that for the price more could be done to add a personal touch.
