Soufriere is the ideal location for travelers, hikers, and backpackers. This community lies just off one of the many black sand beaches which dot the island of Dominica.
The Waitukubuli Trail starts in Scotts Head and segment one ends in Soufriere. The area boasts several local hikes that aren’t in the mainstream hiking guides. The area is quiet but spotted with bars, small convenience stores, and a nearby 5- star hotel offers a world-class restaurant and infinity pool experience if one's up to purchase a day pass.

There is adequate parking on a safe street in front of the apartment. Everything in Soufriere is within walking distance; ten to fifteen minutes away. Please note that the apartment is on a hillside, so coming back up might take longer.
To get to the main town of Roseau without your own transportation, you have to take a bus. The bus stop is a 5 to 10-minute walk from the apartment. You can get the bus to drop you off right next to the apartment on the return journey for an extra 1 EC.
The bus system in Dominica is easy to use and, like most places, the price of public transportations runs cheaper than rentals. However, you won't find buses running regularly to most of the tourist attractions. Also, buses do not run regularly on Sundays.
