Excellent home in a private, beautiful location. Car necessary, but once you’re at the house everything is fully provided. We’ve never had a better host than George who was available at all times and keeps the house as clean and modern as any I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend.

Thanks to George for a lovely stay The villa has almost everything, with a good pool and an outdoor barbecue area that is better-equipped than the main kitchen in many other villas. The propoerty looks straight out over the sea but is a bit limited, with both rising and setting sun screened by the surrounding rocky hills, and overlooking the groundwork for what looks like it wil be a substantial development over time. Access is via a steep and windy concrete track, just off the main E75 (which you cannot hear), with only a couple of neighbours. The main passing traffic - a handful of cars a day - belongs to local fishermen who go down the the rocky shore below. There was a bit of unintrusive construction work next door, but otherwise the main noise was just the pleasant dongling of the goatbells as a sizeable local flock made its way to and fro during the day. The nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes' walk - a bit steep to the road but there is a good track through an olive grove to avoid using the road. Beaches are limited locally, with Agia Pelagia and Ligaria both very busy, so a trip towards the bigger bay of Heraklion might be a better bet. Tavernas are a bit variable, but the real highilight is the one at the back of a near-deserted village called Achlada. Well worth the short drive into the mountains for the sunset and for real Cretan food and hospitality - no menu but the host will let you know what's cooking. And it is both very good and very good value, specially compared to some of the seafront tavernas. The owner George is a lovely man, who will do anything to help.

Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Wir waren 15 Tag da. In der Zeit wurde das Haus 3 mal gereinigt, Betten frisch bezogen, Handtücher gewechselt. George hat den Garten in Ordnung gebracht und sich um den Pool gekümmert. Es liegt sehr weit abseits vom Getümmel in Agia Pelagia, heißt man braucht wirklich ein Auto, sonst kann man nicht einkaufen, Essen gehen, zum Strand oder spazieren gehen. Aber wir haben Ruhe gesucht, und war deshalb genau richtig für uns. Das einzige Negative war, dass direkt unterhalb neue Häuser gebaut werden und deshalb den ganzen Tag LKW‘s unterwegs waren, die viel Staub aufgewirbelt haben. Und auch die Aussicht war zu der zeit nicht besonders schön, weil man direkt auf die Baustellen gesehen hat, wenn man am Pool lag. Aber dafür können Niki und George nichts. Da George auch deutsch spricht, klappt die Verständigung sehr gut. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit.

We had a great time at Blue Vedere place. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. Great place in a great location with excellent views. Highly recommend staying here! Best regards, Alina&family

We have spent a week at George’s House. What an incredible site with a top view of the sea!!!! Waking up to the sound of bells and goats and a cool breeze from the seaside. The house is well equipped and maintained, including all amenities needed. George was kind as to bring us a nespresso machine, as per our request. Make sure to hire a car and have an experienced driver in your party, as access to the House is quiet tricky and the road is under construction, as the area is in development. No noisy or dirty works around though: you will be left alone to witness the beautiful Cretan sea from the swimming pool area. Thank you George for hosting my family!!!
