The stay at the coffee Finca of Carmen Elena and her family was an amazing experience. The Finca is surrounded by beautiful nature. You can enjoy delicious homegrown coffee in the eating area which is a beautiful bamboo structure (The bamboo "Guadua" is grown on the Finca). The food with local ingredients is delicious as well. In the coffee tour you see the coffee plants and the processes of washing, drying and roasting are explained in detail. The machines which are used are shown and explained. Not every Finca is roasting the coffee and you can learn about this procedure here. Many things make this Finca special. The coffee is grown in an ecological and traditional way. Carmen Elena and her family have a big passion for the native nature and do everything to preserve it and even replant native plants. They don't speak about sustainability they live it. It was more than a stay and rather an experience of another lifestyle which is very different to the urban life. Inspiring!

Peter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Carmen and her family. As soon as we arrived, we felt right at home. It was late, but we were hungry and they made us arepas and eggs. Carmen’s home is so serene; tucked away in the mountains, surrounded by coffee and plantain trees. The bustle of Pereira was replaced with the sounds of birds, cicadas, rain, and nature. Our little cabin was located at the top of the hill. We woke to the sun every morning and enjoyed our coffee and breakfast in their communal area. We would often linger to see all of the birds that would come to feed on plantains. We also enjoyed spending time with their dog and cat :) during our stay, we got a tour of their coffee farm and process with Jen (Carmen’s daughter). Jen has such good energy - she talked us through the entire process start to finish. I admire that they still use traditional methods for producing coffee - all organic, shade grown, and small batch. Thank you so much for hosting us!! ❤️

Carmen y su familia son demasiado amables. El lugar es como se muestra en las fotos y hay varias cosas por hacer alrededor de la finca. Es mas que una experiencia turistica, en realidad es la oportunidad de aprender sobre el Eje Cafetero y ser parte de una familia. Altamente recomendado!

My stay at Carmen Elena’s home was perfect and it is an amazing location if you want to disconnect. The coffee, the hiking trail, the food, and hospitality were 10/10. I cannot wait to come back and book another stay in this beautiful place.
