Nice property within walking distance of the park. Clean and comfortable, nice big kitchen with breakfast bar. Enjoyed our stay, comfortably sleeping 5-6 people and pet friendly

We stayed here for a month as we were working at the hospital so the location was good for us and we were comfortable. There was an issue with the shower which was rectified the next day which was good!

AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! Arrived at the property at 2am after an 8 hour drive to find we had no electricity and no heating! Phoned and messaged the emergency number given, no response. Located the meters and found both electricity and gas were already on emergency credit and this had been used up (later in a message they lie and tell us the meters had been checked the day before, clearly not the case). Had to put our children (ages 5 & 9) to bed fully clothed to keep warm. By 3am and still no response we gave up and got into bed ourselves (freezing cold as it’s still February) and would try to sleep and deal with this when we woke! Tried from 8am to contact Toast Lettings, eventually getting hold of someone at 09.40 was told they would send someone out straightaway, eventually, after more phone calls and messages someone arrived at 11am but then he had to take meter keys away to load with money for the meters to work, he arrived back at the property at 11.30. We had a function to attend at 1pm which gave us no time to get everyone showered and ready! 9.5 hours without electricity or heating to which Toast Lettings think £50 is an acceptable refund! They have lied about answering our messages/calls at 2am, I have the details of our messages and no reply from them, not a way to run a business! The only thing going for this property is the space downstairs, and the enclosed back garden, space for 2 adults, 2 children and a dog! The property could really do with a good clean, sofa’s not shifted when floors hoovered/brushed, skirting’s dusty, room corners also dusty/dirty! The only mirror is in the bathroom and can’t be moved, my partner had to straighten her hair in the mirrored light switch in the bedroom! TV in bedroom didn’t work, most of the bedside lamps are without lightbulbs. Had the electricity/heating been rectified promptly I wouldn’t feel the need for such a bad review and would’ve let the other smaller issues with cleanliness etc slide but I will definitely never use Toast Lettings again and advise anyone else thinking about booking with them to look elsewhere!
