Beautiful property with everything you need

The Dory House is a remote gem set in a beautiful natural landscape. We woke up to sunlight bursting in from the bay, inviting us to take the short walk down to explore the oceanside. The space itself felt like we were staying at a friend's place with thoughtful touches in a well remodeled older home with cute nooks and crannies. Every time we opened a new door we'd find another thoughtful touch like a closet full of board games, a stool tucked away in a bathroom, and an optional water cooler if you prefer that over the well. It's obvious that the family stays here themselves and has it set up for everyone to feel at home and relax. We enjoyed the rocky coastline and those who want a sandy beach can go a short (10 minute) drive to Crescent Beach. The part to emphasize is that this is a remote, natural area. Those who want more activity and fewer mosquitos might want to look elsewhere. For us, it was the exact, peaceful getaway we were looking for!

Beautiful location with a stunning view and short pathway and steps down to the beach. You have to play your day around the tides but if you want to spend time on the beach at high tide you can scoot to one of the larger beaches less 15 mins away. We had a great time going on adventures finding near by walking trails and beaches (in Lockeport, Sable River, Louis Head, West Head, and Shelburne). The open concept kitchen/living room was very cozy and inviting. Very spacious home and love having two bathrooms available! We brought almost everything we needed, but the cottages was supplied with lots of items if we would have forgotten anything (beach towels, beach toys, yard games, puzzles, board games, etc). Lovely space that I would recommend to anyone who wants to relax with friends or family in a beautiful home with a beautiful view!

The Dory House met all our expectations. We enjoyed exploring the beach, and kitchen and house were well stocked with everything we needed. The house is close to so many fun beaches and lots of places to sightsee. We live in Nova Scotia but always appreciate our province and the resilience shown after the devastating forest fires in the Shelburne area. We even lucked upon Privateer Days in Liverpool!

A very relaxing, peaceful spot. Very much appreciated the accessible on floor bathroom and large bedroom on main floor which was perfect for the senior in our group - very rare and very accommodating. Highly recommend!
