Our favourite place that we stayed on our whole trip for so many reasons! Beautiful location and lovely house in such a great spot with a stunning view over the lagoon. We slept really well, everything was super clean, loved the pool and the different spots to sit and relax outside( especially the hammock in the shade) , cooking outside ( the kitchen has all the basics you need and more) having breakfast with the best view. Luz & her husband were simply the best hosts, so friendly and helpful and really went above and beyond,- they made us feel so so welcome! The village is great too with some small shops where you can get the basics, a family run bakery ( with fresh bread all day and the best sweet buns on our whole trip) , local honey man, artisan wood carver etc, you really get a small view in on the daily village life. For access to the lagoon you have two options: to the right you can walk straight in the water ( free) or on the left through the “swimming area” which costs 25 pesos per day and you can have access to the sun beds, pier etc plus rent kayaks /SUPs etc cheaply pr hour. Family run and super friendly too and we could just grab a kayak at sunrise and pay them upon return. Please note for late risers: the local church starts playing a bit of music around 8am for about 10 mins so if you are a light sleeper note this but for us it was not a problem at all as the location was pure bliss of birdsong, peace & quiet. We will most definitely be back!
