Thanks for hosting us Amanda and family. Beautiful home in the countryside. highly recommended.
We had a fantastic stay at Amanda's pool house; it is such a beautiful property set on the most idyllic part of the country! We couldn't have asked for a better base for a local wedding - incredibly kind hosts! Thank you x
We had an incredible stay at Amanda's pool house! The heated pool was an absolute highlight, especially with the breathtaking field views as a backdrop. The beds were incredibly cosy, ensuring a great night's sleep, and there were plenty of games to keep us entertained. Amanda & Ben were fantastic hosts, with great communication and their friendly cats and adorable dog added an extra touch of warmth to the experience. I can't wait to return for another relaxing getaway!
What an amazing find. Amanda’s Pool House is a little piece of heaven. Set on a graceful, quiet plot in the countryside. The garden is well kept and you can take a stroll around their meadow. The pool is warm, beautifully positioned and as an interior designer I really appreciated the lovely decor within the house, it was cosy, considered and calm. My 3 year old was in her element in the pool. She loved Wookie the dog popping over to say hello (who is very laid back and friendly) and the ladder up to her bedroom was a fun feature for her. We wandered about and watched the sun set one night and sat outside on the loungers and watched the stars another, it was the perfect place for us to re-charge and reconnect as a family. Amanda was a kind and approachable host - we really recommend this lovely place.
The property is set in amongst beautiful peaceful countryside with numerous walks and bridleways on your doorstep. Experience the golden age of steam, sit back, relax and travel ten miles through Hampshire’s picturesque countryside by steam train. Alresford also boasts many gorgeous shops, restaurants and cafés.
The cathedral city of Winchester is a further 10 minutes drive. Today, Winchester combines the best of city life with the freshness of the surrounding countryside. One hour from London, this is England as it ought to be.

Leading examples of sculpture can also be found across the city, including a statue portraying Licoricia, a prominent member of Winchester’s medieval Jewish community. Over four million people visit this ancient city every year.
Winchester College is the oldest continuously running school in the country. The college has been used as a location to film a number of blockbusters such as Harry Potter and Les Misérables. The college offers tours of it's historical buildings and fascinating grounds. Heading out of the city you'll find the Hospital of St Cross, a medieval almshouse, which still offers the Wayfarer's Dole to travellers as it has done for more than eight centuries.
Winchester's many bars, traditional pubs and restaurants make eating out a pleasure, and there are pretty riverside walks past tranquil water meadows. The city sits on the edge of the South Downs National Park and is the start place for the famous South Downs Way. We are a family of four who love to travel! We have two children now aged 16 and 13. I am orginally from New Zealand but moved to the UK in 1997 when I met my British husband Ben. Together we have backpacked around America, the Pacific and Asia, but also stopped off for a few years to work in New York, Sydney and Amsterdam. Now we are happily settled in the English countryside with dogs, cats and chickens, and have just recently starting hosting too on AirBnb.
