For the price of an international vacation, we spent a week in solitude. You are paying for the location here- I've never had a rental where you had an entire lake to yourself. No kidding, there are no houses in sight. It's absolutely wilderness! I loved it. Bugs were absolutely miserable! Mosquitos, black flies, deer flies, you name it! It was hot and buggy. The water was perfect for swimming. I enjoyed wandering around the property and picking strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries and currants. Saw turtles, eagles, frogs and deer. Lots of fish jumping! I was a bit let down with amenities- some (ladderball and a kayak) were so well loved to the point of being unusable. The internet barely works in the cottage and the dish tv was out of order. There are tons of books and games and cooking equipment though! Important to note the buildings are a walk away up and down a hill - we had some elderly people who had a hard time getting up and down.
We had a wonderful week long stay at the lake! Kristina’s listing exceeded our expectations and the property manager was very responsive and helpful! The additional amenities, location, beautiful grounds and group gathering spaces made for a great extended family vacation. Thanks again! We would absolutely return!
Our family had a wonderful week at Stony Creek Camp. The space was perfect for us, our kids, grandkids, and dogs! The main house easily accommodated the 14 of us for meals with dining tables, large refrigerator/freezer, two ovens and beautiful cooktop. The beds were comfortable with plenty of closet space. Lots of attention to detail with kitchen supplies, indoor and outdoor games, puzzles, books, hiking maps, and brochures. It was wonderful to end each day relaxing in Adirondack chairs around the fire-pit. The older cottage was small but nicely laid out with two twin bedrooms in the front of the house and a more private queen bedroom in the back. The views were particularly lovely from the Main House and Boat House! We loved having canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, beach towels, and folding chairs for our use on their private dock. Not having to drive to rent canoes, etc. saved us lots of precious time and money. Our grandkids even had their own little shallow beach to wade in safely. Many thanks to Kristina, the rental agent, who was exceptionally helpful before and during our stay!
This is a very special place. The cabins are comfortable and well appointed. It truly felt like a private escape for our family with incredible lake views all throughout the property. The boathouse is an incredible place to stay and our kids so appreciated all of the lakefront activities and toys. Highly recommend to those looking to get into the Adirondacks without leaving the comforts of home!
This place is amazing, one of the best vacation rentals I've been to. It is a little bit pricier than some other options in the region, but it's worth it because of the level of privacy and tranquility. I'm used to coming to the Adirondacks, and having a lakefront rental right next door to many other lake houses; the closest neighbors you can see here are across the water. This place is on a much smaller body of water (not actually Tupper Lake, but a nearby smaller lake), so that means no motorboats, etc. So, kayaking around is easy because the water is still and the lake was almost empty. The house was also very nice, full of whatever you would need. And a tip: the bedroom in the upper level of the boathouse is incredibly nice; direct water views and privacy from the rest of the property. Definitely the nicest room. Overall a great time and I hope to come back soon!
Quiet and secluded, you have a lot of privacy!
