Penny’s place was clean and comfortable and was perfect for a couple who wanted to see the area. Penny had lots of excellent suggestions on places to eat and things to see. Penny was lovely and very inviting. Great stay, loved it!
The nicest Host! Very nice and clean with a beautiful bathroom. But the hostess, Penny, is the icing on the cake :) very lovely person. Wanted to make music with us and had a ton of recomendations for places to visit. Would absolutely recommend! Also very comfy bed ;)
Great stay at Penny's. Lovely accommodation and very comfortable. Excellent location and close for my boat trips from Martin's Haven. Lovely to chat to Penny and Richard - they made me feel very welcome.
Penny is a wonderful host. She is very helpful - and very willing to offer helpful suggestions if that is what is wanted. There is extra information in your room. Penny's home is warm and welcoming. Everywhere is very clean and neat and of a high standard. A stones throw from the house is a farm which sells raw milk and other fresh and locally made products. The cheese and Scotch eggs are fantastic.
We don’t have a view to die for, but we are in very practical location with good proximity to beaches, shops, mountains, castles and countryside - ⛴ ferries from Pembroke Dock or Fishguard to Ireland, and Martins Haven for boats to Skomer Island ( n.b puffins are migratory & seasonal residents on Skomer - not there all year round ).
We are centrally placed for best surfing beaches: Freshwater West, Newgale and all other beaches north or south .
National bus stop, bus routes and Sustrans cycle path all on our door step.
We have a relaxed, clean and comfortable space to enjoy a few days to explore from.
Our semi detached cottage is in Steynton , close to Milford Haven and its lovely marina - shops, cafes, daytime & evening dining , boats….and a museum too. Also check out The Torch Theatre for cinema (outdoor venues seasonally), theatre, gallery exhibitions and workshops - lots going on for grown ups and children.
Milford is a small town in a rural community, making a living from fishing, gas and oil imports and agriculture.
St David’s - 22 miles up the coast, is the smallest city in the U.K. with a historic cathedral, shops and galleries, cafes etc
Narberth - 17 miles; a lovely country market town with shops, cafes, antiques, galleries, walks, a museum and music venues .
Pembroke - 6.5 miles, has historic castle, shops and antique browsing ….. more castles at Manorbier and Carew.
Tenby - 15.5 miles , 25 minutes by car….beautiful beaches ; picturesque and historic coastal town. Popular holiday destination for visitors to Pembrokeshire. Boats run to Caldey island .
Local cafes and restaurants are often supplied with local produce. We source milk, veg ., eggs and home bakes from Steynton Farm Shop just over the road .
In Steynton the coast and beaches are all around us - Castle Pill is a tidal estuary so it’s a short walk to the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The Dale Peninsula has some beautiful circular walks , rugged coves and dramatic coastal scenery with island views ….. we are lucky to live here.
Walking is a very good way to see Pembrokeshire, or cycling.
Nearest shop/supermarket is aprox 1 mile.
Travel by car is easiest but all parking 🅿️ in designated coastal car parks is payable. ( Free off road parking at this Airbnb)
Mainline train from Milford Haven to London, and is a direct route to Cardiff and all stations north.
Ferry to Ireland from Pembroke Dock ( 4 miles) or from Fishguard (23 miles) .
Buses pass our door to Milford Haven, Pembroke, Haverfordwest ….and the National Coach stop is just around the corner.
Pembrokeshire is not easy to explore by bus - local routes are not based around tourism and some services cease on a Sunday or after ten at night.
Many visitors have enjoyed their holiday here thanks to careful forward planning and help of the internet.
Great local taxi service, and we're on a Sustrans cycle route .
