Nathan was very responsive and a good communicator. The floors were a bit dirty. The location was quiet and central.

Pros: walkable to downtown, close to NRG climbing/hiking areas, quiet, sharp kitchen knives (!!), stays cool when it’s hot out, a lot of kitchen utensils, fast hot water Cons: TINY kitchen, no oven, small two-burner induction cooktop, minimal kitchen counter space Overall the place would be great for two people over a weekend stay where you are not planning on cooking every single meal and intend to eat out. The kitchen unfortunately did not really match our specific needs since my partner and I are big time cooks. We stayed for two weeks and felt like cooking required a lot more creativity given the layout/space/no oven. I will say I was surprised that they actually had decent/sharp kitchen knives - that’s almost unheard of for an AirBnB. We won’t be returning to The Rebel Base only due to the kitchen. Otherwise it was good for what we needed in a house.

Nice place in a convenient location. The house is small but had ample space for my wife and I and our two kids for a few days. It looks recently renovated and is very nicely done inside. We enjoyed exploring the New River Gorge and are already thinking about coming back. We would definitely consider staying in this place again.

This home is perfect for a small group or family. We were able to walk to town to shops and restaurants. It's located very near to New River Gorge NP. The home was clean and updated and had all the necessary amenities. We appreciated that the check-out expectations were minimal. It made it easy for us to get on the road early in the morning.

Great location convenient to the park and trails and great place for this group of nerds. The absence of Jar Jar certainly legitimized the decor. Two notes that aren't negative but might be useful to future renters. First, there is no oven. No biggie as I quickly learned to make biscuits on the stove top which is induction-style and works great. This was not on Nathan but on me not paying attention to the amenities list. Second, if you've never used a nest thermostat, read up on it! Nothing about it made sense at least to me. At some point it became sentient and decided to no longer listen to its human overlords. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
