We had a great stay at one of Katie and Marks cottages. Kids loved the pool, Wi-Fi works great (v important with autistic child) and it had everything we needed. There’s quite a lot to do nearby, we did Bicton Park which kids enjoyed and then beach days (40 min drive) as we had our dog Oscar and not many places allow dogs (Bicton does). Definitely recommend as it ticked a lot of our boxes.

We stayed for a week in Swallow Barn and had the most glorious time. It's a heavenly place. The location is remote, rural and stunning - and yet in reach of lovely villages & towns and great places to eat (The Lost Kitchen is amazing). Swallow is fantastic - everything is done to a high spec; the kitchen brilliantly equipped; the bathrooms are beautiful and spotless (great showers!) and the bed (we were in the four-poster) was really comfortable. In addition to this we had two private sitting out areas, a gorgeous small balcony straight from the bedroom complete with little table and chairs, and a bigger family outdoor table and chairs with cushions and parasol on a private patio below. You are surrounded by trees, overlook a pond and can see the sheep on the opposite hillside. Idyllic. The pool also lovely (with rota when busy so you always get a good swim). Katie has made a terrific app guide which you get access to on arrival too. We cannot recommend this place more highly. Go!

lovely, well-kept house, just like the photos. Bathrooms and kitchen very modern whilst the rest of the house more traditional. BBQ outside with gas supplied! House is quite isolated but the village pub is a very nice walkable distance. Stunning scenery!

Our stay in Swallow cottage exceeded our expectations. I was concerned about the heating but we were very warm the whole time of our stay, the swimming pool which our grandkids used every day was also warm. The location is beautiful, and we were able to walk our dogs straight from the cottage into the surrounding fields. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, everything to a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped with a double oven and every utensil needed to cook a Christmas lunch. There are several lovely pubs nearby. One which stood out for us was the pub at Culmstock by the river. Lovely walk and back to the pub which was very welcoming. We all really enjoyed our stay, we all felt very relaxed the whole time and all of us including our grandkids are still taking about our stay. Thank you Katie. This was our perfect Airbnb. For our intentions, it was simply flawless. Immaculate, high quality, comfortable and characterful; equipped with everything you are likely to need. Generous additional facilities on site are also up to the same high standards and well thought through. I can’t write highly enough about the location. If you are after a beautifully quiet retreat surrounded by nature set in the picturesque Blackdown Hills of Devon, you’d be hard pushed to do better. The only note possibly worthy of a mention would be for those dependent on high online data usage; the remote location brings with it a data limit for wifi usage. It did not affect us. Our expectations were far exceeded.
