The Blue Flag beach is the most child friendly beach on the Silver Coast. 1 hour from Lisbon, our apartment is on the ground floor with a large marina facing patio with a clear view of the entire bay. The apartment is bright and spacious with modern decor in a renovated heritage building. There is a pool in a tranquil landscaped setting out back. Many restaurants within walking distance, watch the sun set from the patio in the evening and fisherman returning in the morning.

We were very happy to stay in Paolo's holiday home. Everything was clean and delicious, simply and functionally furnished. We enjoyed the large terrace overlooking the bay and enjoyed the small swimming pool. The bay was not as suitable for swimming as we had hoped. On our side of the bay the water was cloudy, but on the south side of the bay the water was fresh and clear, although with some surf. Paolo was a friendly host who ensured a smooth check-in. The place is a base for excursions to smaller coastal towns and monasteries in the hinterland.

Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen ,die Wohnung war sehr sauber, kühl und ist für 3 Personen plus Kleinkind mehr als ausreichend groß. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet , Küchenutensilien, Putzmittel , Handtücher und sogar Strandtuch und ein Sonnenschirm waren vorhanden. Außerdem haben wir auf Anfrage ein Babybett inklusive Bettwäsche und Hochstuhl gegen einen kleinen Aufpreis organisiert bekommen. Auf der Terrasse stehen Liegestühle, die zum abendlichen verweilen und entspannen einladen. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist hervorragend , zu Fuß sind Strand , Geschäfte und Restaurants innerhalb von 5 Minuten erreichbar.

Appartement très bien situé, à proximité des plages et des restaurants. Bénéficiant d'une grande terrasse. Appartement très agréable et fonctionnel. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour à Sao Martinho do Porto.

We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. The view from the apartment is amazing, the neighborhood is great. Restaurants near the apartment are fabulous. We really would have liked to stay longer! Paolo is very responsive.

Sao Martinho do Porto has one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, a scallop shaped bay with fine with fine white sand and calm waters. Many people visit the bay to swim, paddle board, sail and kayak. A stroll on the promenade on the way to one of the many restaurants is a lovely way to begin the evening. There is a sand dune of almost 49 meters high across the bay reachable by a boardwalk. The historical part of town is worth exploring, it can be reached by walking up hill or by taking a very convenient elevator. There is also a great market in the old town that is open Tue to Sun offering an array of fresh local produce and fresh seafood. One of our favourite things to do is to hike for miles along the many trails that overlook the wild Atlantic ocean

Everything within SMDP is within walking distance. There is a convenient elevator in the town that enables you to avoid having to climb the steep hill up to the old part of the town. There is a train station within the town with direct routes to Lisbon, Obidos, Coimbra as well as many other interesting towns. Tickets can be purchased on the train with the train conductor. There is also a direct bus route that leaves SMDP regularly for Lisbon, tickets can be purchased at the ctt (post office) and the bus stop is outside the Intermarche supermarket. Car rental is available in the next town of Caldas da Rainha or there is a car rental in SMDP in the Foto Horizonte shop (they will deliver the car to SMDP
