Lovely private spot with fantastic views over the bay that is constantly changing throughout the day. Easy access to local shops and restaurants. Jo met us in person to give us lots of local information and recommendations. As the weather wasn't looking great she offered us an upgrade to a larger unit with a larger sofa and more space to relax, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

Wow! We loved The Retreat. What a fantastic spot. Beautiful views across the Bay of Islands. Great base for travelling around the Northland. The accommodation was immaculately clean, well equipped and comfortable. Johanna and Marcel are great hosts. Extremely friendly and helpful. We were sad to leave.

What a wonderful spot. Jo and Marcel were very warm and welcoming. We received so many recommendations on places to eat, drink and sightsee. The unit was self sufficient, cozy with an incredible view. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
