Very well-equipped place. Great to have a full (clean) kitchen, with little things like salt, cling film, a small bottle of milk. Only thing missing was shampoo, but we brought our own so not a problem! Lovely views - amazingly, we saw the Northern Lights during our stay thanks to the geomagnetic storm! Located close to Wells. Gail was very friendly.

The Poppies was perfect for our weekend away. Gail & Richard were great hosts, very friendly! The location is great, short drive to cheddar gorge, Wells, Wookey and Glastonbury! We even walked to Wells one day but there are buses if that’s not for you. The apartment is super clean, cosy and has everything we needed. The balcony is a bonus and even got to watch the sunset and the tractors in the field behind the garden with a glass of bubbly! Would highly, highly recommend!

I had a wonderful 6-day stay at The Poppies! It is a real gem, extremely clean, great kitchen, fitted with good quality appliances, very nice lounge, and for the first time ever I can say the bed was super comfy! I have literally never stayed anywhere with a comfortable bed until now. I slept really well! Lovely bathroom, everything super clean and nice touches throughout. I was on my own but felt perfectly safe and secure here. The view out over the landscape and "islands" (=little hills) is gorgeous and so serene! Lovely birdsong in the mornings. Really a great place to stay, with evrything you need. Situated inbetween Wells and Glastonbury, ideal for sightseeing, so much to do & see in the area. I would love to stay here again! Upon arrival Richard was so kind as to take my suitcase up the spiral staircase. Once you get used to it the first few times, I found it easy to navigate, just don't rush. Thank you so much Gail & Richard, you have a lovely hidden gem! It was a perfect stay

Gail and Richard were wonderful hosts and responsive to our messages. Beautiful place to stay with lovely view over a farm. Everything was as described and the bed was nice and comfy with good curtains and blinds to stop the light coming in. The road was a little noisy but this didn’t affect us as we had earplugs. Great location - short drive to wells and cheddar gorge. Would definitely return :)
