Londres · 整套民居 · 2室2床2.0卫 · 可住4人 · Casa Cielo Find Adventure in Small Town Costa Rica
This beautiful two bedroom/two bath home is located 10 miles inland from Quepos & Manuel Antonio Park in the pueblo of Londres. Casa Cielo is situated above the wild Naranjo River, with stunning views, abundant birds and wildlife... all visible from the covered porch or the refreshing outdoor cold water shower! This lovingly built and maintained home is a serene getaway from the madness of tourist centers. Experience the real Costa Rica's pura vida lifestyle among the local Ticos. Casa Cielo is a unique space located on the Naranjo River in Londres, a typical "Tico" pueblo. Once you enter the private, walled property you feel the remoteness and are surrounded by soaring inland hills and the open space of the river. From the covered porch or yard you can view an amazing array of birds, especially if you replenish the viewing stands with bananas as we do. Watch the resident birds, iguanas, geckos and spectacular river and mountain views from our little slice of paradise. Although there are sounds from the surrounding neighborhood, the white noise of the river is ever-present and soothing to the soul.
Very nice place and clean place. It is just 10 km away from Quepos entrance, so it is relatively close to beaches. There is a river just behind the house, it is very close at walking distance, but there is no direct access to the river from the house.
We got a really warm welcome from Dennis (the owner), who lives there a few months a year. We didn't get to meet Cindy. He shared all sorts of tips for local activities, restaurants, markets, places to visit, ... He took us to a magnificent waterfall on a private property. We were there alone, in the middle of the tropical rainforest and got to swim in the refreshing waters. This was definitely a highlight of our trip. Dennis is the best host we ever encountered. If we could give him 10 stars, we would! He cooked for us and we had so much fun! Of course he gives you your privacy too. We were free to use whatever was in the house, the food in the fridge, herbs, drinking water, home made juices, etc. Keep in mind that he lives here (when there are no guests), so there's some stuff of him in the house. The house is very beautifully decorated and cosy. No AC, but there are lots of fans to keep you cool and also a refreshing outdoor shower. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking a nice meal, and then some ... The bed in the master bedroom is very good. The one in the other bedroom ok, but that is a personal thing of course. All windows in the house have mesh to keep the bugs out. Very effective! There's hot water in the shower and the kitchen! You get to experience the real Tico lifestyle here, away from the hustle and bustle from the tourist places. It's located in a small town with almost only locals. There are very few amenities in the town itself, but neighbouring villages have whatever you need and Quepos is just 20 minutes away. A little Spanish goes a long way to get what you want. The town is relatively quiet (small town noises) and well situated to explore the surroundings. Dennis is a birder, who puts bananas in the trees of his garden which attracts a lot of birds. You can watch all sorts of stunning birds up close from your comfy chair on the porch. All in all a top place to visit and the warm, welcoming host made this an unforgettable experience.
This was our second trip to Casa Cielo in Londres. We love the quiet atmosphere and the stunning views of the mountains and river. Casa Cielo is very comfortable. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor showers. The kitchen is wonderful. WiFi access was good. This is a great way to enjoy the real Costa Rica away from the tourist areas. We were able to get to Quepos by bus and return a couple of hours later. We had been to Manuel Antonio Park previously so we did not go this time. This is the perfect place to relax and watch birds of all sizes and colors. There were only two of us, but the house can accommodate four people in comfort. I highly recommend Casa Cielo for people who want to experience Costa Rica away from the tourist hustle.
Casa Cielo was amazing! Dennis was very hospitable and gave us plenty of tips on sightseeing and places to go in the area. His house and gardens are amazing, we saw so many birds and wildlife! Plenty to explore on his property including the river out back. Dennis was extremely helpful and was able to help us find local eateries and places to explore the Tico culture. The house was very nice and clean. Plenty of open space inside and out. This is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the Costa Rican view! Pura Vida!
Dennis’s place was really great with an amazing setting away from town but easy to access with your own car using his instructions. It’s right above a big beautiful river with a mountain view. Birdwatching was from great right from the porch. The house was super clean and well-equipped. Check in was easy And there was a caretaker next-door, but we didn’t need anything while we were there, but it was nice to know. If we had known how nice it was we probably would’ve stayed longer, but hope to return.
Londres is a typical Costa Rican pueblo. Dirt roads, horses being driven to and from barns before and after tours, the occasional cow grazing alongside the road, dogs, chickens, pulperias (mini food markets), campesinos (country people) wearing rubber boots with machetes strapped on their belts headed to or from work. Roughly 1,000 people live in the Londres area but you would never guess it by the number of people you see. The wild and beautiful Rio Naranjo runs along the entire north side of Londres and eventually dumps into the ocean at Manuel Antonio National Park.
It is a place for independent, adventure travelers. It lacks the amenities of the larger cities and resort areas but makes up for it in its simplicity and charm.
It is best that you have your own vehicle but if that is not possible,
buses run to Quepos from Londres on a regular basis throughout the day from around 6am to 7pm. It is cheap transportation and reliable. Once in Quepos, buses run to Manuel Antonio every 30 minutes from the bus station.
A taxi from Londres to Quepos costs $18-$20 one way.
