This is a social house! At any given time one or both guest rooms are open to travelers. I welcome long term traveling nurses for longer stays and passers through. Be prepared to share common areas and make yourself at home! This brick and mortar American Foursquare has seen the rise and fall of the railroad industry. Still a hub and central to area commerce, it’s hip to mountain lovers and Trail Blazers. If you’re a history buff, check out the Transportation Museum while you’re in town! Roanoke is known as the Star City, home to Mill Mountain with dozens of hiking trails and an amazing city view at night. 20 minutes from the Appalachian Trail, home to several local breweries, farm to table restaurants and other eateries, including the Texas Inn (affectionately known by many as the T Room). Our immediate neighborhood is the Historic Grandin Village. More details below.

My husband and I stayed at Laura’s lovely home while we scouted out the Roanoke and Blacksburg areas. Laura had great recommendations for us and was a joy to just sit and talk with. Our pup Clove enjoyed the place too :)
If you want to be near many things to do in the Roanoke area, Laura's place in Grandin is perfect. Quiet neighborhood. Close restaurants and shops. Short ride to downtown and several breweries. Plenty of hiking nearby. Lots to do. Laura is just a message away if she isn't at home.
Best place we've ever been, excellent guest service from Laura, she was kind, helpful and always responding to our requests. The place is affordable and clean, if I have to find some lodging I wouldn't doubt it and book in Laura's place. Fully recommended!

Laura was a great host. Her house was clean and well stocked with towels and washrags. The neighborhood was full of restaurants and vibrant.

Grandin Village is 0.2 of a mile walk to several restaurants, bakery, ice cream shop, local grocery co-op, historic movie theatre and more. One mile from the greenway for biking and hiking. Cardinal bike is a short walk for bike repairs/group rides.
Driveway or alley parking spot available on property. One car parking on site. Can recommend local parking options for additional vehicles nearby.
