Come enjoy the beautiful Catskills in our immaculate fully updated 1960’s A-frame. Located on one acre of land, the cabin has two driveways for easy access during snow season. Ten minutes from Windham Mountain and twenty to Hunter. In Windham you’ll find an abundance of restaurants, bars, and shops. Wherever you go in the area, you’re never far from a hiking trail, a waterfall, or a gentle stream, or even a brewery or two. The Catskills are amazing! We’re sure you’ll love it here! Nestled on the border of Windham and Ashland, our cabin has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a generous kitchen, separate media area, and a comfy living room paneled in natural unfinished wood for that cozy cabin feel, complete with a wood-burning fireplace. There are two entrances, both with mudrooms. Perfect for summer hikes and winter skiing. One is equipped with ski racks. The huge deck has treetop views. The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your culinary needs, and the Keurig coffee station keeps you well caffeinated. Off the kitchen is one bedroom with a double bed. In the living room you will find a stereo set up complete with Bluetooth speaker and record player (and vinyls to spin.) Coffee table books and board games are stocked for your entertainment. Upstairs are two airy bedrooms with queen beds and one crib for the little ones. Both rooms are filled with books for you to read. Everything from old Science Fiction classics to Jonathan Franzen via Agatha Christie are represented. One of the bedrooms has a small balcony with a rocking chair to relax and look at the fall foliage, perhaps with a good book in hand. In the basement is the fourth bedroom, equipped with a large TV and a Roku, as well as a heated floor for cozy winter nights. This room does not have a door for the dehumidifiers to work properly. Privacy is usually not an issue as there is only one bedroom in the basement. Located next to the bedroom is the second bathroom. In the basement is another lounge area with a 100” screen, projector, and a Roku. Another Bluetooth speaker. The other side of the basement has a generous mud room with a ski rack and cubbies to store your gear (we do have some helmets and goggles that you’re free to use). Here you will find an adjustable sit or stand desk with comfortable office chair. The room has a door for quiet working and privacy. There is also a laundry room with washer and drier in the basement. The rest of the basement consists of delicate equipment to keep the cabin running (water, heating, pipes, etc), and we ask you to kindly stay out of those areas. The cabin is blanketed in high speed WiFi, and you control the heat via the Nest thermostat next to the door down to the basement. We don’t want large parties in the cabin, so we’ve limited the number of guests to 4 people (not including infants). Due to severe allergies, we do NOT allow dogs or pets of any kind in the cabin. The water is from our own well, 260 feet underground. It’s perfectly safe to drink, but some people prefer to bring their own water. Your choice. We have a shed on the property. It is solely used for storage, and is therefor locked. There are two dehumidifiers installed in the basement. Please do not turn these off. That will cause damage to the property. Every two weeks in the summertime, our lawn maintenance crew mows and trims for weeds. They’re very discreet, and we’ll let you know the day of should they show up during your stay. You must remove your own trash upon departure. The nearest trash transfer station is in Windham. If trash is left behind, an additional fee of minimum $50 will be charged. We have a camera by the entrances for security purposes. No parties and no visitors that are not part of the reservation. No glitter or confetti please. Absolutely no smoking in the house. The guest who books the stay must be 25 years or older. 2 night minimum stay. Please load and run dishwasher upon checkout. SUMMER GUESTS PLEASE NOTE: This is a country cabin with no AC. There are fans in every room. The basement stays cool year round. Open the windows and doors in the upstairs bedrooms to cool it down before bed. The mountains are generally cooler than the city. Please check the weather for Windham so you know what to expect. WINTER GUESTS PLEASE NOTE: During winter months we advise you to have 4 wheel drive. There are two driveways. The lower driveway will be generally accessible. The upper driveway will require 4 wheel drive in winter.
