Overall, we were satisfied with our stay to an average level. There are a few things that stood out, which lessoned our satisfaction. Firstly, the dirty and uncleaned surfaces and floors of the house when we checked in. I did contact Belle property and requested the cleaner came back to clean to which they agreed, and organised for us. The cleaner did return however, I’m not sure what she did because even after walking her through the house and showing her exactly where all the sand, dirt, and hair had been left. She didn’t clean any of it any more thoroughly than it already was. This resulted in me physically mopping and vacuuming once the cleaner had left in order for the floors to be satisfactory for my one year year-old baby to be crawling all over. Secondly, the house had damp-rid containers in every different room of the house. Clearly a moisture issue present which resulted in a foul smell throughout the house. Clothesline also very dodgy and tilting to fall. Overall just OK.
The home was in a great location and close to the beach. It seemed like it hadn’t been used in a while as the home needed a good vacuum when we arrived as it was dusty and the floor was a bit dirty. Overall I would have thought that the home would have been a bit cleaner on arrival considering the price for the stay. We did enjoy our stay and enjoyed how close the home was to the beach and other amenities in the area.
The location is good with a short walk to Coles and beach. Two bedrooms didn’t have wardrobe and the one that had wardrobe, didn’t have enough storage in it. It was not possible to unpack the suitcase. The website said the property has iron and linen, but there was no linen or iron. There is no coffee table in living room which made it hard to drink or have snacks there. BBQ is inside a closed shed which makes it hard to cook food there in a warm day. We had a terrible experience of finding the BBQ gas cylinders empty! We were ready to BBQ but we couldn’t. The worst thing was that we emailed Airbnb and they did not respond. There was no washing powder for washing machine, and the kitchen didn’t have simple things like salt, oil or any basic cooking supplies, but the kitchen utensils are complete. There is no good views, but the backyard is large for children’s playing and it has soccer ball and nets. In general, the place was clean and good location , but it is not looked after well.
A holiday-goers dream, Jervis Bay is boarded by two national parks and a marine park that’s teeming with playful sea life. On land, hiking and cycling trails lead to cliff-top lookouts and remote beaches. At the southern end of Jervis Bay is Booderee National Park, which has bushland and wildlife in abundance. And the beaches? They’re postcard-perfect (Murrays Beach or Greenpatch are our picks).
But there really is no better way to explore this beautiful part of the South Coast than by water. Wildlife cruises will take you around Jervis Bay Marine Park, which is a haven for bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, little penguins, and migrating whales.
The beaches around Jervis Bay are perfect in every way, with Hyams, Culburra, and Murray’s Beach boasting some of the regions’ finest. Swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, and stand-up paddleboarding are a favourite pastime. And in season, whale watching is a must. For those who prefer to stay on land to watch these beauties, Point Perpendicular Lighthouse on the northern tip and Cape St George Lighthouse on the southern side, boast some of the best seats in the house.
Hugging the calm waters of Jervis Bay is a string of easy-going coastal towns. From Callala Beach to the north of the bay and Huskisson, Vincentia and Hyams Beach to the south, they’re all perfectly positioned to capitalise on the bay.
The towns themselves offer an unbeatable lifestyle. Seaside cottages and dreamy holiday homes are all within walking distance, not only to the beaches but also into the villages that cater well to the every day. Fresh from the trawler seafood and farmgate produce is a standout for the cafés, eateries, and restaurants that are sprinkled throughout. Pubs and wine bars sit alongside boutique shops and art galleries, and fresh produce markets are a regular fixture, bringing the regions finest to the shores.
With so much to do and explore around Jervis Bay, your best bet is to stay awhile and enjoy all that the region has to offer.
A car is essential as local transport is very limited. Jervis Bay Airport Express will drop you door to door. The nearest train station is Bomaderry with buses to all suburbs. Local bus routes from Nowra, Huskisson and St Georges Basin operate in the area. As well there is Shoalhaven limousines and Shoalhaven Shuttle Tours & Charter.
