Aish is a very peaceful hamlet (aside from the noisy sheep) within walking distance of the River Dart village of Stoke Gabriel which boasts two pubs, two restaurants and a fantastic local shop run by Roz. She will happily put together all your local grocery needs and deliver to the door if you so wish.
Stoke Gabriel is well-renowned for it's amazing 'crabbing' down by the millpond which keeps the children entertained whilst the grown-ups enjoy a lovely meal or drink at the well known 'River Shack' restaurant. There are also opportunities to hire kayaks in the village and head off down the dart to explore Dittisham for lunch.
Slightly further afield and a short drive from Aish is the market town of Totnes which has a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and a mainline train station. Totnes is a hive of activity with it's high street bursting with unique local shops and bustling market every Friday and Saturday and well worth a visit.
Being within the South Hams we are fortunate to have many lovely walks and beaches within an hour drive. There is the quaint but bustling fishing town, Brixham, a short drive away, where you can buy fish straight from the boats and the newly opened Sandridge Barton vineyard and restaurant only a few minutes drive (or extended walk) from the apartment.

Aish House is situated in the small rural hamlet of Aish and whilst there are plenty of walks directly from Aish House, including to Stoke Gabriel and even to Totnes (for the more energetic), having a car to use during their stay will allow guests the opportunity to explore even more of the South Hams
