We loved everything about our stay in this amazing place. The home was so well decorated, equipped and very comfortable. Fiona was easy to communicate with, very kind and provided cookies and a great collection of books. We loved having views of the water and all the baby lambs. The drive into neighbouring towns, beaches and cliffs was simple (even the single track). Shetland is an incredible place with lots of friendly people. It was hard to leave the Waddle and the island!

I can’t tell you how idyllic this wonderful house is! It is in a great location on Mainland, about halfway up the island and the north and south are easily accessible. It’s a gorgeous, beautifully decorated Croft set on the side of a voe (fjord) so the view is spectacular. Inside it is warm and comfortable and very well equipped. It felt so homely and all the furniture was comfortable, including the beds. But it was Fiona’s attention to detail that made this house so memorable. Beautiful paintings and drawings by local artists; really interesting books and magazines about local history as well as a good selection of fiction; tastefully decorated rooms and comfortable linens. Fiona was so lovely and welcoming and so helpful with local recommendations. Be aware that the wooden staircase to the bedrooms (which is charming) is steep and the treads are narrow so anyone with mobility issues might struggle to get up and down. The only (lovely) bathroom is downstairs. We will be back!

Great cottage feel in the middle of nowhere, we felt like it’s a typical Shetland experience. Helpful host, spotlessly clean. The listing doesn’t do it justice, many more items in the cottage than specified, the host really had tried to think of everything we would need. Shetland itself is beautiful- but very windy & cold! We drove around the whole island finding places to visit and see. I’m glad this cottage was further out and not in Lerwick as the scenery was stunning and definitely prettier than built up Lerwick!

The cottage is beautiful in and of itself, but when you get in there it’s comfortable and everything you could possibly need is there. It’s like home from home. Well, better than home!!!
