In the event of loadshedding rechargeable lamps are available in the bedrooms and a gas hob for cooking and borehole water and Jojo water tanks. The house now benefits from a battery and inverter system which kicks in automatically in the event of a power failure or load shedding. This system will run the entire house, except air conditioning units for up to 3 hours. If no power returns to the house and the batteries are running low, there is a generator that can then be used. Please note that the generator is to only be used at night where necessary. There is a gas hob in the kitchen with gas kettle to allow guests to cook and boil water as well as a gas/charcoal braai outside to allow for cooking.
