Playa Guasacate/Popoyo is every surfer’s dream come true. Popoyo is a world class wave that works like a machine. No matter the time of the year, no matter the tide - you will most likely catch good or fantastic waves here. That’s why Popoyo is often rated the best wave in Central America.
There is a surf spot in walking distance from your door step, no matter if you are a beginner or experienced surfer. From the mellow long board wave at beginners bay to perfect double overhead barrels over shallow water at the outer reef. Also boat trips to other surf spots like Lance’s Left or Playground are available (charges apply). One thing is for sure - you will return from your surf session with a smile on your face.
In front of us is "Pure Lines" surf shop, where you can repair your board, buy or make a board to suit you and you will find all the necessary accessories for surfing.
Guasacate is a large beach, perfect spot to take a bath, walk in the mornings and enjoy amazing sunsets.
But there are a lot more than waves to be explored around the area. Walk 30 minutes down the beach and enjoy picture perfect tide pools. Take a sunset Yoga class at the Magnific Rock with the most stunning view. Go horse riding with the locals. Or just sun bathe on the white sand and don’t do anything except maybe read a book and sip on a cold drink.
Just steps away you can find local restaurants with Nicaraguan food at all hours, breakfast and lunch in a Dutch resto/deli and a cafeteria/Italian restaurant, there are also pizzerias that open for dinner where you can eat by the sea, in a relaxed atmosphere.
200 mt away is "Popoyo market", with products to meet basic needs, and every day a truck with fresh vegetables and fruits passes by the door of our guesthouse. In the case of having special needs in food or the use of certain specific hygiene products, we recommend bringing them with you.

To get to Guasacate from the Augusto Sandino Airport in Managua we recommend taking a taxi or renting a car, it takes about 2:30 hours of travel.
If you arrive from another city in Nicaragua: Granada, San Juan del Sur, Ometepe, although it is possible to use the local buses, it will leave you 2 kilometers from our beach, so you should always reserve a taxi beforehand.
