We checked in at 6:00pm on Aug 28th and before we could get settled we encountered a huge roach. We killed it and hoped it was an isolated incident. The very next day, we encountered another huge roach and called Kees Vacations (the host). We asked if someone could spray the property. No one showed up and we started seeing more roaches. They came by the home two days after the initial request and sprayed around the doors. Insisting we had seen “water bugs”. There were roaches under the kitchen sink and baby roaches. These were not water bugs and we took pictures. We had a few back and forth exchanges and were threatened that if we gave a poor review we would not receive any refunds for having to deal with this on vacation. Finally we contacted Airbnb regarding the matter. They were prompt with their response. We found another home not managed by kees vacations and had to pack up and move. It was very disruptive to our vacation but we needed to be comfortable especially traveling with a toddler. The owner is this residence also restricted garage access. We planned to store bikes and beach supplies in the garage as we typically do when we visit the outer banks. It was a huge inconvenience to rent a home and not have access to the entire home. Had we known about this restriction prior we would not have rented this home as there is active towing in the community and this restricted our parking. This entire experience required a lot of daily contact and back and forth with the host that was very disruptive to our vacation. We also were unable to sleep 😴 which made it very difficult to enjoy our week together as a family. I advise potential guests to not stay at this home and also try not to stay at a kees vacation hosted property.

Easy check-in, and customer service was easy to get in touch with. Space was very stylish and perfect for our needs, with a very well equipped kitchen. However, walls were a bit thin to the neighbors property, and we wish there were screens on the windows to keep out bugs. But overall this space was exactly what we needed, and we love the community pool! It’s great for kids. Also right down the road from a public beach access with plenty of parking, restrooms, etc. Would recommend.

Great location, central to everything in kill devil hills and the surrounding areas. The place is in good condition and having an attached bathroom for each bedroom was really nice. There is no door on the 4th floor bedroom and the living room furniture is more stylish than comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool amenities, although the lazy river wasn’t working.

Great spacious townhouse close enough to the beach area. We were visiting my brother who is in the Coast Guard and chose that location because it was closer to his home. It’s great that is pet friendly and has the pool area for the kids to enjoy during those hot days. The house is only a few years old and they are still building more across from it.
