Our family had a fantastic stay here. The home is beautiful and has been well-maintained, and is surrounded by that beautiful, rugged West Texas landscape. We enjoyed playing pool in the gameroom, eating dinner on the patio table, walking the property (where we saw rabbits and quail), and late night fires at the outdoor firepit. This was one of the best homes we've stayed in via Airbnb.

Me and a few friends selected this property for an 8 day get away. Upon arrival on the first day, after the sun went down, we found it easy to locate the house. The private drive is well marked in multiple locations and the front porch light was left on to make it easily visible. Getting acquainted with the house was fairly simple for us. We were easily able to find things in the house, it has more amenities than listed. Coffee, espresso, various bowls and bakeware, utensils, etc etc etc, too much to list! The list does indicate some of these items to be present, but doesn’t detail nearly enough as to the wide variety of selection - we were please to see this. My party had done our research of the area before selecting this property. Carlsbad Caverns was a 3-ish hour drive, Big Bend was perhaps just over two hours. If you are considering this properly, it can easily sleep the number stated. Do your homework as to the location, your desired attractions, and you’ll be fine.

Can't imagine a better combo of remoteness in an upscale/historic ranch house at this price! Really a special place.

If you kids, I do not recommend this place. They provide a kids' room, but the house has a lot of fragile pieces. This house gave me anxiety. We had to put away a lot of things so they wouldn't break. They still found plenty of things to Nickle and dime us on. They went through our trash, which is creepy. But, what I had a real problem with, is they claimed we stole a blanket and charged us for it. Just a warning that they will check every tiny detail. It almost feels like a scam. Also, the road is not for all vehicles, one person in our group had trouble.

The house was beautiful and great. We used it for a girl's trip and it definitely exceeded our needs. We enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, laughing and snacking. The only downside was the drive back and forth to Big Bend. There is no easy way to get there. You must drive back through Alpine or Presidio, which took up our time exploring.
